For a change of pace in the morning, try Carbsense pancake mixes. Starting your day with these great tasting, wholesome pancakes will get you out the door, ready for anything the day might bring.
Buttermilk: Our chefs spent many hours in the test kitchen working on our new, improved Buttermilk Pancake Mix, and we're sure you'll agree - they've truly outdone themselves! These pancakes are incredible. With their moist, fluffy texture and sweet buttermilk flavor, you'll no longer be reminiscing about those "high carb" pancakes you used to enjoy. Rich in protein and fiber, these pancakes contain just 4 Effective Carbs per serving. See for yourself why so many people agree that is truly the finest pancake mix available.
Buckwheat: Buckwheat is actually a fruit, not a grain as is commonly thought. It contains 20% more fiber than oats, and is one of the best plant sources of protein. Maybe best of all, though, is that it's creamy texture and nutty flavor make a GREAT pancake. Our chefs have created an unparalleled buckwheat pancake mix for you to use to make pancakes that are rich, moist and fluffy, yet contain just 3 Effective Carbs per serving.
Apple Cinnamon: Add some spice to your life with CarbSense Apple-Cinnamon pancakes. Great for breakfast, or anytime. Each serving contains 26 grams of protein and 6 grams of fiber!

thick, and tastes awful

The product was so awful, I would not feed it to my dog. It tastes like cardboard. Has the texture of something other than a pancake. Cooks up different and looks different than a regular pancake.

I was pleasantly surprised

|
Cons:

Batter was extremely thick
|
|
I prepared the mix in a pitcher thinking I'd be "pouring" it into the pan. But had to add extra water just to spoon it out. However, when done cooking, it looked like a thick pancake and tasted quite good. I will be using this mix until you folks tell us you have found a better one!

You need to add much more water than called for, otherwise you will not get them in the pan. The batter needs to be thin for the middle to cook, and you get more pancakes that way. I found them to be good, I would buy them again.

Edible

NOT "light and fluffy"
|
|
I'm not sure where they get off advertising these as "light and fluffy," because they're NOT. The batter is so stiff and sticky, you have to beat it to death with a spoon coated repeatedly with Pam to get it onto the griddle. Once that's accomplished, however, it produces an edible pancake - if you add enough other "goodies." I found that it was OK with a LOT of cinammon and vanilla, but it's not something I'll try again. Still waiting for a LC alternative that actually TASTES like a real pancake with maple syrup!

Somewhat similar to pancakes and very filling

Cons:

smells like a fresh pack of paper money
|

I the absence of anything else, I enjoy eating these. If you need to add some more water...who cares. I also like to slather these with a lot of sugar-free syrup and butter (because I can).
Once you get over the smell they're really not that bad.

Cons:

eh,it ain't IHOP

The trick is to whisk the batter, use extra water
and press them really flat.
I got 3 pancakes out of one serving, and only
ate one.
Get em while you can!

I tried the apple cinnamon and really like them--The instructions are a bit confusing because the additions they specify (1 egg, 1 T oil and 1/2 cup water) only apply to a SERVING size (40 g) not the whole box, though the directions don't specify that.
I mixed up one batch the night before (to save time in the morning) and made them. They are extremely filling and really quite excellent as far as low carb pancakes go. I had mine with WF syrup and WF apple butter and was a happy camper. These will definitely help keep me sane while I low carb it!

Pros:

Decent pancakes, good enough to satisfy cravings
|
|
Cons:
|
Slightly eggy tasting
|
|
So far, I've only tried the apple cinnamon flavor.
As someone else said, they're not IHOP, but they're okay. I think they taste slightly eggy, but it doesn't really bother me. It's good enough to hit the spot if I have a really bad pancake craving. I put butter and splenda on top of mine.
I was confused about the mixing directions too...On my box, it listed how much water, oil, and egg to use, but didn't specify how much mix. I assumed these were the amounts for one serving, so I had to look on the side of the box to find out how much mix I needed for once serving (It was 1/2 cup).
I agree with the others, it needs more water than called for...I ignore the water amount on the box, and just keep adding water and stirring until it's thin enough to pour. I'd guess I'm using about twice as much water, maybe more. Because of this, I end up with a lot more pancakes, too. (I get about 8 pancakes from 1/2 cup of the mix...according to the box, I'm supposed to get 2!!!!)
I think these are pretty filling. I only eat 1/2 a serving in one meal, and it's quite enough for me.
