Description: Nearly every “low-carb” baking mix on the market contains sugar alcohols. Our technologists and chefs have worked extra hard to create these great tasting cake mixes WITHOUT SUGAR ALCOHOLS! They are amazingly easy to prepare and are ready in about a half hour.

Chocolate: We began with some excellent cocoa, added almond flour (the main ingredient) along with other natural ingredients, and sweetened it just right with Splenda. After a slice of this guilt-free, lowcarb chocolate cake… your dinner’s complete.

Carrot: This is our chef’s favorite item. Topped with a cream cheese frosting, this carrot cake is truly excellent. Each slice contains 16 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber and just 4 net carbs.

Controlling the carbohydrates in your diet, combined with regular exercise, is the easiest way to look and feel your best. Each serving provides heart-healthy fiber, protein and essential fatty acids for a great tasting, wholesome snack.

Pros: easy, taste, texture
Cons:

I like these a lot. The carrot cake is my favorite. Especially with sugar free cream cheese frosting. No sugar alcohols and very low carbs.

The chocolate isn't bad either but a bit higher (4 carbs/serving). Servings are 1/9 of the total, a generous amount. I bake them in a square cake pan, frost, slice and freeze.

Pros: texture, flavor
Cons: just isn't the same, price

I was surprised that it actually tasted decent. I love carrot cake and missed the chunks of pinnapple. But it was a good substitution and I would definately buy it again.

Pros: Taste
Cons: Texture....

I must admit that since I only paid 99 cents for this mix at Canned Foods Outlet, it was a major bargain! I haven't tried the Carrot Cake mix yet--just the Chocolate one. While the taste wasn't bad (I think I left it in the oven for a couple of minutes too long and it would have been moister otherwise), it didn't rise much and it came out very uneven....the batter was very thick going in, and therefore didn't have the uniformity that you can get with a thinner batter. Of course, I've had this problem consistently with all of the low-carb (layer-type)cakes that I've baked--both from mixes and from scratch. I have yet to find any low-carb cake that starts out moist and ends up rising correctly and retaining the proper amount of moisture. Fluffy cakes don't seem to have been invented in the low-carb realm yet.
I'm giving it a 6 only because I'm hoping that something better will come out in the near future. It's as good as anything else out there (of its type) at the moment, especially if the price is right. In the meantime, I'm going to stick with Chocolate Tortes instead of cakes, because if it has to be heavy, at least my (homemade) Tortes come out perfectly.

Pros: Tastes a lot like a brownie. Very moist. Freezes well.
Cons: doesn't rise like a regular cake mix, if you are looking for a traditional cake

I would recommend this product to everyone who loves chocolate brownies, but is trying to keep their carb counts low. These only have 4 net carbs each. I underbaked mine (on purpose) just a bit and it turned out more like a brownie, as the texture is much different than a regular cake. Makes 9 generous servings and is great with a little cream cheese icing you can make with Splenda. A great item to make in advance and keep in the freezer for those brownie cravings.

Pros: great tasting for a mix
Cons: n/a

For a boxed mix, this (chocolate one) tasted pretty good. Very easy to make. I think I may have over-baked the first one since it had a tad bit dry texture. The next attempt I added 1/4 cup of Mayo to the mix and it was EXCELLENT. No frosting was even needed. Just sifted a little pwd Maltitol on top. I had to start slicing and freezing to ensure 'portion control'. Ya know, outta site, outta mind! Bought out the whole supply at Walmart to have it on hand for when I'm low on my ingredients needed for my homemade cakes/brownies.

Pros: good texture, not bad taste
Cons: not sweet enuff

Compared to other Chocolate cake mixes and carrot cake, too, these aren't bad. I make a low carb, sugar free frosting and that makes it like 'real' cake. Added little extra Splenda to both and that helped. Not bad!!

Pros: good flavor, tasty
Cons: slighty gummy texture

The carrot cake has become a HUGE hit with my family, even those not dieting. I add a pinch of cinnamon and a little chopped nuts and cover the cake with sugar free cinnamon cream cheese icing.
I'd highly recommend it!

I have made brownies from the chocolate mix by adding an egg and cutting back on the water. It turned out quite good, too.

Pros: Easy
Cons: Was dry, and bland

Maybe with alot of doctoring, and some frosting,
but, it would then be logical to just make it from scratch.

Pros: very easy to make
Cons: too dry

Although it was easy to make it had a different flavor. I've had other products by carbsense and had no problems. Next time I would have to doctor it up a bit.

Pros: FIBER!! Taste, convenience
Cons:

Chocolate Cake Mix: I use this to make 12 muffins (baked for 13 min) - each one has 3 net carbs and 9 gms of fiber!! Hubby loves these!

Carrot Cake Mix: I also mix this according to package directions but make 12 muffins. It lowers the carb count to 3 net gms - still decent fiber but nothing like the chocolate. A good moist muffin but not very flavorful. I'll eat these but hubby detests cinnamon and won't touch them.

Pros: easy quick to make
Cons: bland dry

well it was ok with splenda and cream poured over it, made it like melted brownie icecream but not very chocolaty. i would spend my carbs elsewhere if i had it to do again

Pros: very good
Cons:

i bake these a lot. i add walnuts to the carrot cake and make it as it looks on the package - 2 layers with cream cheese frosting between the layers and on top.
the chocolate cake is just as good.
i spend a morning baking all their products - the 2 cakes, along with the brownies and apple cinnamon muffins then freeze them in individual bags so i am ready when that baked goods craving comes along.

Pros: quick treat and easy to prepare when living in a hotel
Cons: none

While the flavor was good and this product doen't contain sugar alcohols I do prefer all homemade treats. The chocolate and carrot cakes were life savers when we were moving and I only had access to a few baking utensils in a hotel kitchen.

Pros: texture
Cons: odd aftertaste

The carrot cake wasn't that great until I added some cream cheese frosting. It's not something I would make often.

Pros: simple to use, taste was good
Cons: none

I was able to purchase these mixes from our local Wal-Mart for a very reasonable cost. The chocolate was my favorite with a dollop of whipped cream. Unfortunately our local Wal-Mart closed in favor of a Super Wal-Mart who now carries nearly nothing as far as low carb mixes/products. I'm so bummed!
