Description: Counting Your Carbs Just Got Easier

Eleven Entrées containing 9-23 Grams of Net Carbs – Tasty and Delicious!

For weight loss as well as weight maintenance, limiting carbohydrates has become the daily norm for an estimated 50 million adults. But following a reduced carb diet long-term can be difficult. In addition, concern is growing that meals high in fat but low in carbs may have longer-term negative health effects on the heart, bones and kidneys.

Consumers miss eating a wide range of foods they enjoy, yet they want the weight control success they have found with reduced carb eating. How can they solve this dilemma? The solution can be found in the freezer as LEAN CUISINE® introduces 11 mouth-watering meals containing between 9 and 23 grams of net carbs. Plus, these delicious meals can be ready in minutes.

"For many of my clients, reducing the carbs in their diet has helped them lose and now maintain their desired healthy weight,” said Mitzi Dulan, a registered dietitian from Overland Park, KS. “But many of my clients have a tough time sticking with the typical higher fat, low carb plan. The repetition of the same higher fat foods coupled with the lack of fruits and vegetables can be hard. The LEAN CUISINE® meals, particularly those with two full servings of vegetables, will be warmly welcomed by the clients I counsel."

"These 11 varieties provide our consumers with convenient, easy-to-make meals that contain 9 to 23 grams of net carbs, less than 300 calories, and most importantly, are delicious. It’s something our carb-conscious consumers have been telling us they want." said Brett White, marketing director for LEAN CUISINE®.

Each LEAN CUISINE® entrée in the new line includes one or two full servings of vegetables, features lean proteins such as chicken, turkey and beefsteak with flavorful sauces, and contains between 9 and 23 grams of net carbs. The four new recipes include:

Three Cheese Chicken with tender grilled chicken strips in a rich and creamy cheddar, Parmesan and Neufchatel cheese sauce served with broccoli and diced red peppers. This entrée contains 13 grams of net carbs.

Roasted Turkey and Vegetables combines tender roasted turkey and mushrooms in a traditional home-style gravy accompanied by green beans and accents of red peppers. The entrée contains 9 grams of net carbs.

Steak Tips Portabello consists of tender beefsteak with Portabello Mushrooms in a rich Burgundy wine sauce with a side of broccoli and contains 10 grams of net carbs.

Honey Dijon Grilled Chicken has grilled chicken strips covered with a tangy honey-mustard sauce accompanied by flavorful Green Beans Almondine, making this entrée flavorful with 22 grams of net carbs.

Also in this collection are the popular Herb Roasted Chicken and Beef Pot Roast entrées, and five LEAN CUISINE® meals with new recipes: Chicken Marsala (formerly named Chicken in Wine Sauce), Baked Chicken Florentine, Grilled Chicken, Beef Peppercorn and Oven Roasted Beef

The eleven LEAN CUISINE® items have veen available in supermarkets nationwide since February 2004. The suggested retail price for each meal ranges from $2.39 to $2.79, so carb counting can be affordable as well as convenient, delicious and good for you.

Pros: Veggies were so so
Cons: tiny amount of protein, tasteless sauce, expensive

I had the three cheese chicken. There were about three tiny (really tiny) pieces of chicken. The sauce was had very little taste to it. The veggies were OK. I won't be buying these again.

Pros:
Cons:

I had the 3 Cheese Chicken & Vegetables meal.

The vegetables were good & so was the couple of pieces of chicken, but the cheese sauce was horrible! It tasted like powder that just wouldn't mix up or something. I won't buy them again & I'm glad I didn't have to buy this one.
