Pros: Flavor and yummy chunks!
Cons: Not as dense as regular B&Js, it was much lighter and whipped.

I tried the Half Baked flavor - one of my favorites pre-Atkins. The ice cream was a bit lighter and whipped to help keep the carb count to 5 grams per 1/2 C serving, but the flavor was excellent and the chunks of fudge brownie and cookie dough were indistinguishable from the regular product.

Pros: Close to the real thing.
Cons: Not the real thing

My biggest downfall with this diet was B&J 1/2 Baked. I almost fell over when I saw this low carb version in the store. Of course, nothing measures up to the real thing, but the Carb Karma 1/2 Baked was close enough to keep me happy.

Pros: Fudge Chunks!
Cons: Serving Size (tiny); Could be Addicting!

OK. I'm totally guilt ridden over this ice cream. Yes, I ate the whole pint in two sittings (and thought that was pretty strong of me!). It is simply too difficult to not eat B&J's in a modest way!! Though I thoroughly enjoyed it, I have to say that the ice cream itself is sort of tasteless/bland. It's the fudge chunks that make this yummy and addicting (I'd trade the cookie dough for more of these any day). Definitely a nice treat but won't be buying again because too many carbs (5 per serving and 4 servings per pint---yea right!)

Pros: Lower in Carb then Orig. version
Cons: No where near as good as Orig.

Guess it would do if I was desparate, but I'd much rather have the CarbSmart brand made by Breyers.

Not close enough to the real thing to waste valuable carbs on.

Pros: tastes very close the real thing
Cons: you want to eat the whole container!

This ice cream is wonderful. My husband and I are ice cream nuts, Ben & Jerry's in particular. I read about the "Carb Karma" on this board and went out and bought it - being a bit skeptical, I admit. However, this ice cream did not disappoint - the texture, the taste...you actually have to make sure you watch your portions, or else you could eat the whole thing. I highly recommend this product, especially for those people who love (and miss!) their ice cream. It was delicious!!

Pros: It's Ben and Jerry's
Cons: Can't eat just one (serving)

I tried the fudge chunk, it was very good. Same texture no fake taste, but it was not as sweet as the original they could have added a bit more splenda to the mix but I will definately buy it again.

Pros: Yummy!
Cons: High sugar alcohol

I give this product a 9 - it tastes wonderful, almost addictive! However, it is very high in sugar alcohols, which do stall me (and a lot of others).

Pros: The brownie chunks were good
Cons: No flavor, strange texture

I was so excited to see this in the store (half baked), but so disappointed after tasting it. The consistency was terrible, very light and strange. I could have dealt with this if the flavors had at least been stong, but I couldn't even taste any chocolate flavoring. I was the worst low carb icecream I have yet to taste, excluding Atkins.

I would suggest going for the No Sugar Added New York Fudge Chunks. That was outrageously delicious.

Pros: It's low carb Ben & Jerry's
Cons: Hard to resist having more than one serving

The first bite has a small after taste. After that, it's good to go!!! I like the Chocolate the best. It has a fuller flavor. I can't buy the pints though. Too much temptation. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I live down the block from an actual Ben & Jerry's store so I can go and get a baby dish of it and keep to the portions.

Pros: Low in carbs
Cons: Taste

I had the half baked kind. The texture was good, but flavor was horrible. It was very "blah". I would not recommend it to anyone. I ended up throwing it all away.

Pros: nothing
Cons: too much vanilla extract, choc almonds are bland, odd texture, over-hyped

I tried Vanilla Swiss Almond. This is my first experience w/Ben & Jerry's overall. (I'm a bryers/edy's girl!)

After reading these posts I could NOT WAIT to find this in the stores. It was ALWAYS out and I can't for the life of me imagine why now that I've tried it.

The first bite was an overpowering taste of Vanilla extract. I absolutely love vanilla, but this was just weird. The next bite had some of the blandest chocolate covered almonds I have ever experienced. It's like wax almonds.
The texture of the ice"cream" is so unusual that it's hard to describe. It's not creamy, it's almost so light that it's "flaky". It's hard to get a good spoonful because it flaked all over the place. It should be called "ice flakes".

I took a few more bites to see if anything improved and it didn't, it actually become more bland or my tastebuds collapsed from the jolt of vanilla from the first bite.

Maybe 1/2 baked is better, but by this experience I won't even waste the $ to try it.

This is no comparison to the creamy smooth texture of Carb Solutions (any and all flavors. If you haven't tried it, I urge you to look for it. It is by far the best ice cream around and only 2 net carbs. Bryers and Blue Bunny are quite good too, but Carb Solutions tops them.

Pros: None
Cons: Tasted like artificial carb crap

As many others have replied, I too was excited to see that B&J made a low carb product. Having visited there plant twice and having consumed many a pint myself, I was looking forward to tasting it. I tried the vanilla swiss almond.

I was immediately let down, the stuff is awful. The second taste confirmed I had wasted my money. They should have called it Carb Krap instead. Why do all of these ice cream products have to taste artificial. If you recently tasted the real stuff, you know how bad this stuff is. I would rather do without.

Save your money and buy some heavy cream and frozen strawberries. Its a few more carbs but worth it.

Good luck

Pros: I didnt mind the texture
Cons: Taste - as in none

First off, I LOVE the original halfed baked. When I saw this in the store I almost danced with glee. Then I tasted it...bland isnt the word. Its a pale imitation of the original.

All that being said, if I saw a Carb Karma version of From Russia with Buzz, well, even a pale imitation of perfection would be pretty darn good. Smile

Pros: Perfect, just like the real thing!
Cons: None!

Unbelievable! This is by far the best low carb ice cream I've ever had. Tastes just like the real thing, no nasty aftertaste, superb! Smooth, rich flavors, yummy brownie bites. Highly recommended!!

Pros: good
Cons: price

nice taste but a little pricey. And I find with the small container I tend to over eat. I'd buy carb smart first.

Pros: yeah for ben and jerry's
Cons:

I like having another option. It's nice to keep some in the freezer for days when you need ice cream, it keeps me away from the full sugar stuff.

Pros: the teeny cookie bits in it!
Cons: TOO much alcohol sugar, bitter taste

I saw this advertised months before it was available here and was thrilled when I finally snagged a carton. I was horrified when I saw the total carb count (the only one that really counts for me) for that little pint was 80 grams of carbs!! (who really makes 4 servings out of that??-- if I could do that, I wouldn't have a weight problem! LOL) and that there are huge amounts of alcohol sugar in it, which to me, adds a bitter taste... not to mention the -- ahem -- stomach problems that alcohol sugars cause some of us. I won't be buying it again.

addendum:
(the carton I got said 20 grams total, 11 grams alcohol sugar, not the numbers that are listed here).

Pros: none
Cons: flavorless, non-chocolately, artificial tasting

I tried the Half-Baked since some have rated it so highly and it was on sale. Never had the regular half-baked but I have had other flavors and generally think they're ice cream is great. If you just look at the ingredients you would see why it tastes so artificial. I'd rather have no sugar ice cream, even if it is a few more carbs and enjoy it.

Pros: you probably wont eat the whole thing
Cons: its gross, bitter aftertaste, when there is a taste at all.

I was excited to try this. It had the worst aftertaste of any low carb ice cream ive ever had. Im disappointed in B&J's. they should be able to come out with a much better product then this. BOO Ben and Jerry!

Pros: availability
Cons: cost

I don't know, I love regular B&J's, esp. the peace pops... but the LC ice cream just doesn't do it for me. It's soo heavy, and doesn't melt in my mouth at all; I have to kinda chew it to get it down. There are better LC options out there.
