I made waffles, according to the package directions they tasted too "eggy" for us. So, I watered down the batter and got great results, a nice light, crispy waffle with a good flavor. I used melted butter instead of oil and some vanilla in a later batch and they were even better.
You can also use the thinned batter for pizzelles.

It was a nice change from eggs, until I tasted it - very spongy, tasted like cardboard! Next time I will try buttermilk and the melted butter per the other suggestion. I will also try to thin down the batter and make the waffles.

Idea is attractive

Cons:

Present recipe is yucky
|
|
It tastes like eggs. I ate one bite and threw the rest away. If the egg-y tastes wasn't there then maybe. I even substituted some of the water for heavy cream and used some cinnamon. Maybe next time vanilla extract.
Atkins baking products need MAJOR improvement.

All I can say is BLECH! It's better to just make pancakes or waffles using the Atkins Baking Mix.

Pancakes tasted like egg flavored sponge. I couldn't get past the third bite. I will try again but I will add some vanilla extract.

This was the most disgusting pancake mix I've ever tried. Horrible eggy, chemical taste and spongy texture. Save your $ and try something else!

Nice change of pace from eggs and meat!
|
|
Cons:

Spongy texture, very egg-y

I have to say I was dissapointed with this product. A coworker who is also doing Atkins recommended it, saying it was pretty good, except the syrup was "as thin as water".
The first time I had them, I didn't think I'd be able to finish them, I was so let down. They tasted like egg-cakes with runny maple water. But I thinned down the recipe with some cream and added a little bit of Splenda (sweetener) , and it was better. Not great, but better. The best thing about them is that they are not an omelette or a strip of meat (being on Induction, I am so sick of the breakfast choices!!) Also, it is only 3 grams of carbs for 4 pancakes, so it is a very filling meal that won't use up all your carbs. The syrup really does a have a good flavor once you get past the texture. And, compared to the other Atkins products, it's not too expensive, seeing as you get 10 servings per bag (40 pancakes!) Overall, even though I would never choose to eat them if I wasn't on this diet, I do recommend them for an occasional change of pace for morning meals.

The mix tastes incredibly bad! Although the idea of having pancakes on the Atkins diet sounds great, these are not pancakes - the are fodder.

Pros:

good substitute, crepe-like pancakes can be made
|
|
Cons:
|
a little eggy, a little dry
|
|
Although I know a lot of people that do not like this product, I really think it is an OK alternative to carb-laden pancake mix. The pancakes come out LOOKING like real pancakes, and taste similar. The texture is fluffy, the taste on the eggy/dry side, but hey, I think they are pretty good. I usually add a packet of splenda and some vanilla which perks up the flavor a bit. I also use a little more water to make a thinner batter. Overall, a good product, in my opinion.

I just made this today and thought it tasted pretty good to be low carb. The syrup i bought was atkins and it was very runny but it tasted ok too. i think next time i might add a little splenda to the bake mix . It was a deffinate change from having eggs for breakfast .. I will definately buy more.

While it is not even close to the pancakes that I used to eat before low carbing, it is nice to have them every once in a while. I am actually glad that they aren't too good, because I can satisfy my pancake craving without a full blown cheat.

Maybe I am just starved for pancakes but I actually like these... I follow the recipe on the back EXACTLY (lest they don't turn out right) and add 1 tbs vanilla syrup (da vinci's) -- I could eat them every morning.

ok guys, these pancakes are horrid - I had left over mix that I swore I would never use until I found these recipes (one of which I made up), you will be rushing out to buy more once you make some of these:
Apple Spice Cake
Pumpkin Squares
Doughnut holes
These all use the leftover pancake mix! try it - you will be surprised
