Description: ThickenThin not/Starch thickener is the perfect thickener for lowcarb or grain-free diets. It recreates the thick rich textures you want without adding calories, fat, or carbohydrates. It even gives you fiber, all of it the soluble fiber that is so hard to get on a restricted diet. (Note: we follow US nutrition label law which requires reporting 4 calories per gram from soluble fiber, even though the human body cannot digest it.)

Suggested uses: sauces, soups, gravies, and salad dressings.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): LC thickener when needed
Cons: hate the slimy feeling in the mouth

While I have used this product I really only use it when I am desperate for gravy as I hate the mouth feel.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): great thickener
Cons: can have strange mouth feel

Makes great thickener and lasts a long time even though quite expensive, I find lots of flavoring helps to conceal the slightly slimy texture of the gravy. Too happy to be getting gravy!!

Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Cons:

I wouldn't like to be without this stuff in my LC arsenal!

It's great for thickening so many things. Like try 1/2 teaspoon thickener and 1/2 cup DaVinci or Torani SF syrup - whisk in the thickener, then microwave on High til thickened to your liking. Great as a pancake syrup or let cool and spoon over ice cream or cheesecake.

As for gravy, I find that if I add a tablespoon or two of heavy cream after thickening, it reduces any off texture.

The best advice on this thickener is to WHISK WHISK WHISK it into whatever you're thickening!
