Fiber is an essential part of our diets. It helps keep our digestive systems healthy and regular. When following a low carb diet, fiber is often lost along with the carbohydrate sources. Nutragenics Fiberfit Sweetened Soluble Fiber is an extremely low-carb liquid dietary supplement that adds back some of that missing fiber. It can easily be used in any cooking or baking recipes.
Fiberfit is perfect for low-carb dieters and diabetics. Because its caloric value comes from complex carbohydrates, Fiberfit has a minimal effect on blood sugar and insulin levels. One teaspoon of Fiberfit provides one full gram of fiber in liquid form.
A single teaspoon of Fiberfit has just 4 calories - approximately 1 gram of carbohydrates - from complex carbohydrate sources (the fiber itself). According to Dr. Atkins, carbohydrates from fiber have zero net impact on one's daily carbohydrate total.
Fiberfit is sometimes called "Liquid Splenda" because it is sweetened with sucralose, a non-caloric, non-chemical, FDA-approved agent derived from real sugar. Each teaspoon of Fiberfit has the sweetness of approximately 4-5 teaspoons of sugar with no unpleasant aftertaste.
Fiberfit comes in a 4 ounce (120 ml) flip-top bottle, making it easy and convenient to take anywhere.
It is easy to convert most artificially sweetened recipes to use Fiberfit liquid soluble fiber in place of a typical sweetener. I suggest you use 3-4 Tb. of Fiberfit in place of each cup of sugar or Splenda granular called for, to begin with, and then adjust that measurement as needed to allow for differences in personal tastes.
If you use Fiberfit as a sweetener in baking, note that because you are replacing a dry ingredient with a wet ingredient, you may need to use less liquid or add up to 1/4 cup of a dry bulking ingredient such as protein powder, whole grain flour, or nut flour for each cup of sweetener that you are replacing. Use Fiberfit anywhere you would use Splenda - Fiberfit works great in things like cookies, cakes, beverages, ice cream, sauces, dressings, etc.... anything that needs a touch of sweetening without unnecessary carbs.
Fiberfit is not a substitute for sugar alcohols such as maltitol or things that thicken or harden due to “caramelizing” cooked sugars.

No Carbs Gotta Love that!

Cons:

A very slight aftertaste to me.

I used this in egg custard. 2 teaspoons which should according to the bottle equal 8 teaspoons of sweetness. Artificial sweeteners are very new to me and I read somewhere to get a good flavor combine 2 sweeteners. Next time I will add maybe a packet or two of splenda to balance the sweetness and possibly eliminate the aftertaste. This is definitely a keeper for me.

No filler (dextrose) as in reg. splenda plus it has fiber

Cons:

Seems pricey but you do use just a little.
|
|
This is splenda (see comments above) but doesn't have the filler (dextrose I think) that's in the reg. Splenda brand... which is why it seems less bitter to some (more sweet).

This is the product that started me shopping with Netrition. I am in love with the sweetening power of Fiberfit. Finally I can drink tea on my low carb diet. I also made low carb chicken salad that was to die for using fiberfit. The grandular products alter the taste of beverages hot/cold. Not fiberfit.
