Ingredients:
|
3 tablespoons Olive Oil
1 pound extra lean ground
beef(93% fat free)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green bell
pepper
11 ounces Tomato Juice -- I
use the
individual size cans of
tomato juice,
they are 5.5 oz each.
5 ounces Water -- can add
more water if desired
1 teaspoon Cumin powder
1 1/2 teaspoon onion
powder -- or granules
1 teaspoon garlic powder --
or granules
2 Tablespoons chili powder
-- (2 to 4) to taste
1 can canned green chilies
Salt and Pepper to taste
Hot Sauce or Hot Chili
Flakes if desired.

How To Prepare:
|
Saute olive oil, beef, onion,
celery and green pepper
together till meat is
completely cooked. Put on a
lid
so the vegetables will
steam while the meat is
cooking.
Add tomato juice and water,
lower temp, cover and let
simmer 3-5 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients
and let simmer for 5
minutes.
Serve with cheese, sour
cream or what ever suits
your
fancy (within the diet)
NOTES : Counts for diced
green chilis not included in
totals.
