Enjoy the 4,000+ Low Carb Recipes!!!
If you were NOT low carbing in 2008 and 2009, you may remember a decadent drink at Starbucks called "Chantico". Chantico was an over-the-top chocolate drink--very rich and delicious. And definitely NOT low carb--a 6 oz serving had 50 grams of carbs, 350 calories, and 20 g. of fat. Whooeee!!!
But what a treat. I admit, sometimes I indulged, and I'm certainly paying for it now.
Here's my low carb version. It tastes just as good as the original, but there are only 4 carbs. Definitely doable when you really need a treat. I like it when the rest of the family is eating a gooey chocolate dessert I can't have.
1 oz of Heavy Weight Cream, 2 Squares of 88% dark chocolate, 1 tsp of Davinci's Chocolate Sugar Free Syrup or other syrup of your choice, Cinnamon to sprinkle on top
How To Prepare:
I put the chocolate and the cream in a 1 cup pyrex measuring cup and heat in the microwave for 1 minute (you need extra room in the heating vessel because the cream will bubble up). Stir until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Add in the Sugar Free Syrup. Pour into a demitasse cup and sprinkle cinnamon to taste. Be sure to enjoy every drop!
