Description: These crunchy little rounds get their punch from a sweet and spicy sauce that you drizzle on before serving. 1.1 carbs each, but these little induction friendly things can get your vegetable carb count up. I had to trim down the recipe to accommodate a 5oz can of sliced water chestnuts so the ingredients are a little funky.
Ingredients: 1 - 5 oz can of sliced water chestnuts.
6 slices of bacon each cut into 3 equal parts
2 tbsp + 1 tsp of mayonnaise
0.25 cups + 2 tsp packed Sugar Twin Brown Sugar substitute (carb count uses Sugar Twin)
2 tbsp + 1 tsp Texas Pete's Hot Sauce
How To Prepare: 1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2) Wrap 3 chestnut slices with bacon strips. Place roll seam-side down in a baking dish.
3) Bake 35 minutes or until bacon is crisp and cooked through. When baked drain the fat and poke a toothpick in each roll.
4) In a medium side mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sugar Twin Brown Sugar substitute, and Texas Pete's Hot Sauce. Mix well and pour over baked bacon-chestnut rolls.
Number of Servings: 18 rolls
Carbs per serving - include all nutritional information if known: 1.1 net carbs (1.3 - 0.2); 28.8 cal; 2.5g fat; 0.7g protien
Preparation Time: 10 minutes prep and 35 - 45 minutes cooking time.
Effort (Easy, Average, Difficult): Easy
