Description:
|
Beautiful Taco Salad that looks like a flower, and tastes delicious.
|
|
Ingredients:
|
1 lb. ground beef (more or less)
1 1/2 c. cheddar cheese
low carb soft taco shells
salsa
McCormic's Taco Seasoning
3/4 c. Water
Any taco dressings that you like
(shreaded lettuce, sour cream, tomatoes, guacamole, other cheeses etc.)

How To Prepare:
|
First start to brown your ground beef. You can grate your cheddar while you are waiting.
In another pan heat just enough oil to coat the pan, maybe a little more, but not much!
When beef is browned, add the taco seasoning and water, bring to a boil. Simmer on low to keep warm while you are cooking your flower petals (tortillas)
Next, cut up your soft taco shells into triangles to look like tortilla chips. Drop them into the hot oil a few at a time, as many as you pan will allow. Watch them to see them get brown. Flip them with tongs, and allow to brown for a few seconds. I like them a little on the brown side, but experiment, you may like them just lightly browned.
You can allow them to cool on paper towels, and if you wish you can salt them while they are hot.
Now, get creative! Start with a few scoops of taco meat in the middle of the bowl. Arrange the petals (chips) around the meat to look like petals. Add your cheese, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, lettuce etc.! Make it look pretty, you'll love it.

Number of Servings:
|
I would say 1 lb. meat will serve about 4, so use 3 1/2 or 4 soft taco shells
