This is very good Beef Stroganoff, very rich and hearty. Use your imagination for noodles, I like it with broccoli.
|
|
Ingredients:
|
1 white onion, sliced (can omit)
8 mushrooms,sliced
1 1/2 pounds round steak (sliced thin) OR ground beef
3 tablespoons cooking oil
1 pint sour cream (can use less)
2 tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil, or 2 teaspoons dried basil.
2 bouillon cubes, dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water
salt and pepper to taste
|
|
How To Prepare:
|
Brown the meat in the oil, then place in a baking dish.
Brown the onions, mushrooms in the remaining drippings and add to the dish.
To the drippings in the frying pan add half the sour cream, the Worchestershire sauce, lemon juice, basil, salt and pepper, and the dissolved bouillon cubes. Mix well and simmer for a few minutes, then pour over the meat in the dish.
