Description:

Ingredients:
|
6 ounces provolone cheese
slices -- 8 deli style thin
slices -round
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup organic soy beans
-- *see Note
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
pepper
3 cups shredded lettuce
1/2 cup diced tomato
1 cup shredded cheddar
cheese

How To Prepare:
|
Using a wax coated type
small paper plate,
microwave each slice of
provolone for 2 minutes on
high or until brown and
crispy. Let cool for a second
then remove and do the
next one until all are
cooked. *Unless your
microwave
cooks evenly all over the
surface, do just 1 at a time:)
You can sprinkly lightly at
this time with salt and
pepper while they
cool. Stack once cooled.
In a large sklillet, brown
ground beef, onions,
beans(drained)and
spices until cooked
through.
On each provalone tostada
shell, layer meat mixture,
lettuce, tomato then
cheese.
You can add optional
ingredients like: sour
cream, salsa, jalapeno
slices, olives, guacamole,
etc -just be sure to add the
carbs:)
NOTES : *Westbrae Natural
Organic Soy beans are per
1/2 cup: 11g carbs;
3g fiber; 150 calories; 13g
protein Counts for soy
beans not included in
totals.
