Description:
|
|
|
Ingredients:
|
1 Large head Cabbage
1 pound Ground Beef
1 pound Ground Pork
1 tablespoon Ground
Tarragon
1 tablespoon Ground Basil
1 Cup Shredded Cheese
(Your choice of kind. You
can add more if you like.)
1 Chopped Onion
Chopped Bell Pepper (to
taste)
Crushed Garlic (to taste)
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
2 cans Stewed Tomatoes
|
|
How To Prepare:
|
Par-boil the cabbage for 5
minutes. Remove from
water and run cold water
over head. Remove any
leaves that are tender and
easy to roll. Put head
back in water to boil
whenever the leaves seem
too brittle. You don't want to
leave the head in
the boiling water too long
up front, or you will
lose your outer leaves.
(Save the liquid)
Mix all remaining
ingredients, except the
Stewed
tomatoes, together and
then put about a tablespoon
full in each leave and roll
folding bottom firs,
then sides and last top. If
needed you can use a
toothpick to keep closed.
Pour one can of the Stewed
Tomatoes in the bottom
of a baking dish, place the
Cabbage rolls on top of
Stewed tomatoes, then
Pour the second can of
Stewed
tomatoes on top. Pour a
little of the liquid from
boiling the cabbage over
the rolls.
Bake at 350 degrees
approximately 30-40
minutes.
Optional: You can shredd
some additional cheese
and
put on top of rolls about
5-10 minutes before done.
