Tired of the 'same old' types of quiches or egg bakes? Try this recipe! It is not spicy (although, by adding a few shakes of red pepper flakes or some hot sauce, it can be) and has a very unique taste to it!
3 whole eggs
3 egg whites
3 cooked sausage patties, chunked
50g raw mushrooms, sliced (about 3/4 cup)
1 scallion, chopped (green onion)
1/4 bunch cilantro, torn up
1/2 T cumin
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 oz colby-jack cheese (or cheese of your choice)
How To Prepare:
Preheat oven to 350 and lightly grease a 9" pie plate. Whisk together the ingredients well. (It will be VERY thick looking. If it looks too thick to your liking, add in another egg and/or egg white). Pour into pie plate. Bake for 40 minutes or until knife inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let rest for 15 minutes then serve. You can top each slice with 1T of salsa and/or 1T sour cream.
