This makes a nice replacement for potatoes on the holidays.
1 turnip peeled, halved, and sliced about 1/4 "
1 pint half & half
1 package of shredded cheddar cheese
black pepper to taste
salt to taste
How To Prepare:
Butter a casserole dish. Preheat oven to 350. Place turnips in pan. Toss in cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add a little water, and cover with foil. Bake about 45 minutes until turnips are cooked. Remove foil and add half & half. Bake another 15-20 minutes until bubbly and brown. Do not overcook once half & half is added, or this will curdle.
