Really easy one-pan recipe that even your non-lowcarbers will love!
1 Small Onion (chopped)
1 Smoked Kielbasa
1 Package of FRESH (not canned) Saurkraut
1 Lb of Bacon
How To Prepare:
Warm a large skillet or saute pan over medium-high heat
Remove bacon from package and lay on cutting board. Cutting vertical against the slices about 1 inch segments. Add to warm pan and stir. As it cooks the piecs will seperate - this creates perfectly browned & crispy bacon bits.
Once bacon is crispy drain about a half to 3/4 of the greese from the pan. Reduce heat to medium and add onion. Continue to stir
When onion has become soft and translucent, add package of saurkraut and stir. The liquid from the saurkraut will deglaze the pan and turn the saurkraut a brownish color as it cooks. Let simmer for 10-20 mins, continue to stir frquently, until most of the liquid has reduced.
Cut kielbasa into bite-size pieces and add to the pan, stirring until kielbasa is hot. Remove from heat and serve.
