Miss baked beans? I did too, until now. The longer you cook these beans the softer the consistency and the closer to regular beans. You can't substitute cooked dried soybeans or frozen green soybeans, also called edamame. Their textures are harder and are better eaten in salads. These black soybeans are just right. You can experiment adding bacon, ham, onions or even liquid smoke if you want. My counts are for the 3 main ingredients though.
1 can(15 oz.) Eden Foods Black Soybeans
1 1/2 TBS. Cary's Sugar Free Maple Syrup or equivalent of other brands- to your taste
1/2 tsp. soy sauce (I use Kikoman Lite)
How To Prepare:
Place beans, syrup and soysauce in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 5-10 mins, until most of the liquid has evaporated.
