Fresh lime flavors the lean flank steak in the refreshing dish. It is a great everyday meal or great for company. Beautiful served with a green side such as asparagus or broccoli!
1.5 lb beef flank steak
1 t. finely shredded peel of lime
1/2 cup lime juice
2 T. splenda
2 T. soy sauce
2 tsp fresh oregano or 1/2 tsp dried (crushed)
ground black pepper
(garnishes: lime slices and fresh oregano for company ...)
How To Prepare:
Trim fat. Score both sides of steak in diamond pattern. Put steak in ziplock. Prepare marinade and pour over steak...seal bag and turn to coat. Marinate in fridge 2 to 24 hours.
Preheat broiler. Drain steak - save marinade. broil (4 to 5 inches from heat) for 15 minutes, turning once and brushing with marinade.
Serve, thinly sliced diagonally across the grain. Garnish with lime and oregano for company.
