Description: This is a very rich dessert. You could sub Davinci's for the vodka if desired. I recommend using a mixer for the batters for smoother results.
Ingredients: White Russian Brownies



Chocolate batter:
¼ c. butter, softened
1 to 1 ¼ c. sugar substitute (I used ½ c. xylitol plus 1 tbs. Sweet N Low liquid)
2 eggs (1.2g.)
1 c. Carbquik (6g.)
½ c. unsweetened cocoa powder (11g.)
¼ tsp. Baking powder
¼ tsp. Salt
½ c. Davinci’s Kahlua flavored syrup + ¼ c. for brushing on top of cooled brownies


Cream Cheese batter:
2 – 8oz. Pkgs cream cheese, softened (16g.)
1 egg (.6g.)
¼ c. sugar substitute
¼ c. Carbquik (2g.)
2 tbs. Butter, softened
¼ c. vodka


How To Prepare: Directions:


1. Preheat oven to 325*. Grease well a 9X9 inch glass baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, cream 1 to 1 ¼ c. sugar sub with ¼ c. butter. Add 2 eggs and mix well. Stir in ½ c. Davinci’s Kahlua syrup. In a small bowl, combine 1 c. Carbquik, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt (you may want to use a fork to break up as many lumps in the Carbquik as possible). Stir this mixture into the butter mixture until well blended. Spread half this mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
3. For the cream cheese batter: In another large bowl, stir together the ¼ c. Carbquik and ¼ c. sugar sub. Add softened cream cheese and softened butter and mix well. Stir in 1 egg and the vodka. Mix until smooth. Spread this evenly over the chocolate layer in the baking pan.
4. Pour the remaining chocolate mixture over the top of the cream cheese layer.
5. If desired, you can make a swirl effect with a toothpick.
6. Bake for 45 to 55 min. When brownies are cool, brush top with ¼ c. Davinci’s Kahlua flavored syrup.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Unique and excellent flavor
Cons: Hard to eat just one.

I followed the entire ingredient list as listed however I used a "brownie pan" 6 x 11 instead of the 9 x 9. Doing so, I put 2/3's of the brownie mixture on the bottom, followed by all of the cream cheese batter then carefully spooned on the remaining brownie batter. Swirled with a toothpick. I took these to a Christmas party. They were a huge hit! Luckily, I saved some for home because these are worth it. They remind me of the gourmet type brownies the coffee shops offer. Great recipe.

Oh My Gosh, these are sooo good! I will never miss regular brownies with these around. I didn't have any Carbquik, so I used almond meal and soy flour. I took them to a pot luck and everyone loved them--they have no aftertaste, even with the soy flour. The only drawback is that they are so good it's hard to keep out of them!
