How To Prepare:
|
In a bread machine,
combine water, bread mix
and yeast. Place in
machine on 'dough' setting
and let machine mix dough.
When mixing is done (don't
let rise), remove dough and
divide into 8 even pieces.
Roll each piece in your
hands to form a log. Spray a
large cookie sheet with
cooking spray and lay the
bread logs on in
leaving space between. Set
in a warm, draft free place
to rise for 2 hours.
Once risen, bake at 350 for
15 minutes or until golden
brown.
Wait until rolls are cool
before cutting in half.
To make soup/dipping
broth, pour broth, onion
flakes, salt and pepper
in a sauce pan with 1/2 cup
water. Bring to a simmer
and turn off heat.
Cover and let sit 10 minutes
while you prepare the
sandwich filling.
Slice the onion and pepper
into thin rings and fry in 2T
oil for 5
minutes or until they start to
wilt. Add the reamaining oil
and the steak-uums
and fry 2-3 minutes or until
the steak is done.
Spread rolls w/mustard or
mayo if desired. Layer on
the meat, onions
and peppers, then top with
the cheese and other 1/2 of
the roll. Can be
microwaved at this point to
melt cheese. I suggest
wrapping in plastic
wrap and microwaving for
45 seconds.
Ladel broth into 8 small
serving bowls.
To serve: slice sandwiches
in 1/2 and dip into warm
onion broth.
