Description:
Ingredients: 8 ounces Mozzarella cheese -- 1 8 ounce brick - cut into 16 sticks
2 ounces pork skins -- crushed
2 teaspoons Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 large egg
How To Prepare: Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet til very hot.*


While oil is heating, in a medium bowl, mix pork skins, parmesan cheese, garlic powder and pepper; set aside. Whip the egg in a small bowl. Dip the cheese sticks in the egg, then roll them in the pork skin mixture, making sure they're evenly coated. Deep fry the sticks until the coating is golden brown. Tastes great dipped in Ranch dressing.


*The hotter the oil, the better the coating stays on the cheese.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): tastes like the real thing
Cons: gotta make sure you really coat the cheese or it starts getting gooey and alittle messy

These were very good and tasted like the real thing. Make sure to coat them really really well. I used my fry daddy to fry them in canola oil and they turned out well.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): didn't get that far
Cons: breading won't stay on

Might be my fault these didn't turn out well. The breading fell off and the cheese "exploded" in the oil. Had the oil at 375 but maybe needed it hoter?? Also, crushed the pork rinds by hand but think maybe a food processor would have made them finer. Any suggestions?

Cons: Smoky Kitchen...maybe my fault?

I left out the Parmesan because I just didn't have any. One thing that will help with the coating coming off.... dip in the egg, then the pork rind mixture, then dip in the egg AGAIN, and back in the pork rind mixture. It makes the egg messy, but it really helps get a good coating on it. Otherwise, you only get little pieces coated. The outside comes out nice and crispy-crunchy yummy. Also, I used string cheese type cheese. This is a fast, easy snack. Great for study time!
