1 ripe tomato
1/2 small white onion
3 ounces green chiles -- canned, drained and rinsed
2 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 jalapeno pepper -- if heat is desired
How To Prepare:
Put everything in a blender and puree. Add up to 1/4 cup water if needed to thin. If desired, press through a mesh sieve to get rid of the pulp and seeds -but not necessary. Serve 'raw' as a dip for shrimp. Serve over grilled chicken or other meats. You can also cook this- but only a few minutes over fairly low heat.
