I have a patient who eats these all the time so I changed it around to make it low carb to fit me

Ingredients:
|
Sliced Ham/turkey (any kind of sandwich meat)
Sliced cheese
Mayo
Mustard (optional)
low carb pita bread ( I usually find it at Publix if you have one (I live in Florida thats the popular grocery store here or a Albertsons)

How To Prepare:

I have a toaster oven I use.
take the a slice of the pita bread cut in half place in toaster oven on light to medium setting, that makes the pita bread open up , use knife to help open up all the way if not already completely open
spread mayo into both pieces
take slices of ham and fold up with the sliced cheese and stuff into the pita bread pieces (one piece of ham and one piece of cheese for each piece of the pita bread)
then put back into toaster oven on medium to dark setting which ever you prefer (i find the low carb pita bread takes longer to toast up crisp than regular bread bread because its softer)
You can probably come up with a million differnt things to stuff in them but this is the basic sandwich ham and cheese =}
Oh and as an after thought (something im trying out later) you can probably use the pita bread as crust for a little pizza!

pita bread has 7 net carbs per slice cheese usually has 1 or 2 carbs and sometimes the ham does but you can find ham with no carbs so i would say less than 10 carbs per serving
