These are delicious! They are a cross between an egg roll and a cabbage roll.
1 pound ground turkey
1 head of cabbage
1 small onion
1 shredded carrot
1-4 tbsp. soy sause (adjust to your taste)
1 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 large clove of garlic
1 tsp. Louisiana hot sauce
1 packet of splenda
2-4 tbsp. Canola oil (for sautee`ing)
1 tsp. dried Oregano
1/4 cup half n' half
4 tbsp. melted butter
squirt of lemon juice
salt & pepper (to taste)
How To Prepare:
Brown onion in 1 tbsp. Canola oil then add ground turkey. Brown meat. In another pot, blanch 6 cabbage leaves in boiling water for 30 seconds. Pour out the water, and add approximately 2 tbsp. of canola oil and sautee the remaining (shredded) cabbage and shredded carrot until tender. When the meat is browned, add the meat to the sauteed cabbage, and begin to add everything else except the garlic. Add the garlic about 2 minutes before turning off the heat. Evenly distribute meat/cabbage mixture over the 6 cabbage leaves. Roll them up and secure with a tooth pic. Place them in a glass baking dish, and pour half n' half over the cabbage rolls (to retain moisture while baking). Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. When the rolls come out of the oven, pour the butter and lemon mixture over them, and VOILA! It may sound hard to prepare, but it is really easy!
