Wash and stem the mushrooms. Dice the stems and reserve for later. In nonstick pan, brown the sausage, add the mushrooms stems and cook thoroughly. Drain off the grease. In a separate bowl, mash the cream cheese. Add the mushroom/ sausage mixture. Mix well. Place in mushroom caps. Place on microwave safe plate, with mushrooms around the edges. Microwave on high for 3-5 minutes or until caps are done.
Makes a wonderful appetizer or quick snack.
