Description:

Ingredients:
|
1 pkg. of Wonton wrappers
Cinnamon
Oil
Splenda or sugar substitute
|
|
How To Prepare:
|
Heat oil in a deep wok or cast iron skillet. Fold up Wonton wrappers in any shape you like and drop into hot oil in small batches - 3 or 4 at a time. Quickly flip over Wontons once, allow to fry for a couple of seconds and immediately remove from pan. They should be just lightly fried. Place on paper towel and allow to drain till all wrappers are cooked.
Place fried Wontons into a plastic bag with Cinnamon sweetened to your liking with Splenda or other sugar substitute and shake to coat. Kick back and enjoy right out of the bag or container. Makes a fantastic change from chips, pretzles or popcorn for movie nights. Crumble and serve with low-carb, sugarfree ice cream for some added crunch. Substitute onion or garlic powder (or a mixture of both) for "chips" and serve with dip, or use as a base for "nachos" and top with whatever you like! Fry them up with your bacon drippings, crunch them up and use as a topping for your salad! Makes a great light "crust" too for desserts! The recipe possibilities are endless!
If you are you as sick as I am of substituting Pork Rinds for absolutely everything that might require some crunch, you're gonna love using Wonton wrappers instead. Did you know that 3 oz. of Wonton wrappers has only 5 grams of carbs? And you can get a ton of them in a package for less than $3.00? They're wonderful! They fry up in seconds, they absorb very little oil, they stay wonderfully crispy, they don't have that heavy, pork-fried taste (which really doesn't work well with cinnamon and sugar) that Pork Rinds do, and they're so filling. Enjoy!
