1 medium-sized chicken - skinned and cut
into medium sized pieces
2 large onion -- chopped
1 medium tomato
1 tablespoon anise seed -- ground fine
1 tablespoon coriander -- ground fine
1 tablespoon cumin -- ground fine
2 tablespoons black pepper -- ground fine
1 piece ginger -- (5 cm) - ground
1 pod garlic
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 cup water
salt -- to taste
How To Prepare:
Rub ginger and garlic into chicken. Heat oil in a wok and fry onion, until golden then add chicken and salt, and mix well and cover the wok for 5 minutes. Add the ground spices, chili powder, turmeric powder and water. Cover the wok and simmer chicken over low heat until chicken is half cooked and later add tomato. Leave to simmer till chicken is tender and serve hot.
