Description:
|
|
|
Ingredients:
|
1 egg -- beaten
1/3 cup crushed pork rinds
-- (1/3 to 1/2)
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
|
|
How To Prepare:
|
Combine in a mixing bowl:
Once thoroughly mixed,
form into a ball and place it
in the center of a cookie
sheet.
If you use a pizza pan, don't
spread the meat to the
edge or you'll have a REAL
mess on your hands.
Form the meat mixture into
a 'crust.' Bake on 300 for
about 20 minutes, or until
firm.
(Somone posted that they
bake for 30-40 min, to get
'crispy crust'.
Drain the juice from the
cookie sheet and pat the
'crust' dry with a paper
towel.
Top the crust with low carb
goodies. I use Italian style
tomato sauce, mozzerella,
romano, pepperoni,
mushrooms, onions, etc.
Back into the oven until
cheese bubbles.
VERSION 2 --- Mexican
Mix a packet of taco
seasoning with the meat &
spread it into 'crust' shape
& thickness. Cook it, as
above.
After the meat 'crust' is
cooked, spread a little
salsa on it, then some
mexican cheese, some
olives and
diced tomatos and bake
until cheese is melted.
Serve with some sour
cream and / or guacamole
or diced avocado.
NOTES : This gets a little
greasy as it cooks. This is
the one place I would
consider using leaner
ground beef
