Ingredients: 5 strips of bacon, diced
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cups water
4 medium turnips, peeled and thinly cubed
1-1/2 t. salt
1/8 t. pepperr 1/3 c. flour to thicken (I use 1 tsp. Xanthum gum)
2 cups cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
How To Prepare: In a saucepan, cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and saute onion in drippins until tender. Add water, turnips salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer uncovered, for 12 mins or until turnips are tender.

Combine thickner and milk until smooth; gradually stir into turnip mixture. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 mins or until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted. Garnish with crisp bacon.
