Description:
You won't miss the crunch with this hard taco shell alternative. Easy to make!
Ingredients:
-cheddar or colby cheese, either in block or smaller round form
How To Prepare:
Cut the block of cheddar into slices about 1/4 inch thick, or slightly thinner (if using block cut the short way down, or in rounds if using that). On a small glass, or Correll-style plate, heat cheese in microwave for about 45 seconds. Depending on your microwave in may need a full minute. Some of you already know this trick to making what I call "cheese crackers". Using a knife's point peel the cheese cracker off of plate- CAREFUL it will be hot! Quickly lay the cracker over a rolling pin or some other round object to create the shell shape. Fill with your favorite ingredients and enjoy!
*NOTE* you will know when the cheese is done when it starts to get brown and is more solid than melty. It took me a few trys to find the perfect time for my microwave. I've also found that what you cook it on can make a big diffence too! The only downfall is that it doesn't seem to work if you cook more than one at a time.
