57 yrs old and a cyst on ovary?

Wow, I thought when you were in menopause you'd no longer have these issues. Horrible groin area pain - confirmed by ultrasound. I do have fibroids which I figured they were the cause but it's a dang cyst. And doctor talks like sometimes it resolves itself and goes away????

I hope you feel better soon! Yes, I've heard that in several cases, that some ovarian cysts can reduce and resolve on their own.

I had an ovarian cyst after menopause that my doctor monitored for a while (an ultrasound every 3 months or so which was a pain in the butt) and it eventually started getting smaller, so she said not to worry. Of course I did research and learned that ovarian cysts are quite common after menopause. Do you know if it's a simple cyst or a complex cyst? A simple cyst is totally not worrisome; a complex cyst (like I had) can't be discounted as benign based on ultrasound, so that's why my doctor monitored me. Sorry it's causing you pain; I hope it does resolve itself quickly.
