I think the baby aspirin goes with the folguard for my folic acid issue that can cause clot between when blood is going from me to a baby. I know they tested me for pretty much everything! lol

I was told to start taking baby aspirin after I had my 1st trimester screening. They said it helps with blood flow in the uterus. I think there are many advantages to taking it during pregnancy.

So I got my Mirena IUD in a few weeks ago and I am loving it! Some cramping for the first couple of weeks but now- nothing. My first period was 2 days of spotting. My period had been terrible since it came back so this is amazing. It was pretty painful to get put in but didn't last long. I'm so happy I got it done!

Another super disappointing month.

I was due to start on the 29 and didn't. I tested and it was negative. I decided to wait a few more days. I still hadn't started this morning, so I tested again. Negative.

I called the specialist. The nurse called me back and said if the test was negative this morning then it is the progesterone that is delaying my period. I'm suppose to stop it as of today.

I'm crushed. As much as I was trying to not get hopeful or excited that it had happened, I was both.

Awww, Im sorry Suzie.

I have read the same re: progesterone. Most docs tell you to stop taking it 14 DPO, if BFN so that your period will come.

This was my first month with my higher dose. The other dose didn't stop my period, so I was completely thrown off. I'll know now though.

DH and I are going to have to do some talking to figure out if we want to skip this cycle or not. This coming up cycle would leave me where I am due the same month and around the same time that Connor was due. I don't know if I want to do that to myself emotionally, but then also at the same time I don't want to skip a month that "could" work.

(((Suzie))) I am so sorry. I can understand why you might want to take a break. Personally I would leave it up to God, or the universe, or whatever. I like to believe that God's timing has a purpose. I think you'll know in your heart what to do.

Hi to everyone... You seem like such a tightknit group, so I hope you don't mind if I "listen in" and learn from you guys. I'm somewhat TTC. My husband and I have taken no precautions to avoid pregnancy for more than two years, but I have PCOS so we know it won't be an easy journey. After working night shift for a few years, I gained a ton of weight and was unhealthy but I'm getting on track now. I would love to find out I'm pregnant any day, but know I need to lose weight beforehand if I want a healthy pregnancy. I'm really interested on how low carb eating seems to be affecting fertility for you guys.
I'm hoping the weight loss will help me all around, we really can not wait to have children and I feel pretty guilty that what I did to my body is holding us back :-(

to you Suzie. As a friend, I do wish that you would take this cycle off. I know everyone says "relax and take a break!" but that seems like such useless advice when struggling with infertility. I'd just hate to see you comparing a new pregnancy to your first, I think it would bring so much unneeded stress into your life. But I know that each opportunity every month to get pregnant is so precious. It's difficult to let that chance pass you by when you want a baby so badly. I'll support you no matter what you decide.

Welcome!!! I think that you will find other women in this group who had happy and healthy pregnancies while overweight. I have heard so many success stories with low carb. So glad you found us because this is a thread full of good advice.

Have you been tracking your periods/ovulation? Temping is really the best way to know for sure that you've ovulated, the strips only indicate that ovulation is near. A temp will confirm that the egg has been released. Taking control of your fertility is a great book, I have a biochem degree and still learned a LOT. Highly recommend it as a starting place!

Wow, thanks so much! I've never seriously tempted before. Mostly because I've been discouraged to get pregnant until I'm in a healthy weight range. I haven't been told specifically "don't get pregnant", but I've been told it'd be best to wait. I really think I carry my weight differently too because many are surprised I weigh as much as I do. I have zero health problems except for the PCOS, which seems to be because of my weight. Thankfully, my blood pressure and all my blood work is perfect. I am gaining more control of my weight and I am hoping getting down another 40lbs will put my body in a more ideal place to get pregnant.
I have tried ovulation sticks before, but I would get a positive several times within one cycle, making me think they're not very accurate for my situation. I'll check out the book you suggested, I'm always happy to read and learn more about any situation affection me or someone I love.
Another issue that will proba oh affect my chances of pregnancy is my husband is a type 1 diabetic. He has no issues with getting the deed done for lack of better terms haha but I do wonder if the two of us combined are making it all difficult. I will certainly continue to read this thread! Thanks again for being so kind

DH and I have officially decided to take a break from the specialist this month. This month was extremely hard on me emotionally and we both need a breather from appts and such.

We are not going to protect really, just not formally try with the specialist.

I called the doctor's office and they were extremely supportive of this decision and said to just call when we were ready to start up again. They said a reboot is a great idea because it starts wearing on you. They are so sweet and she seemed upset with me that it didn't happen last cycle.

Do you mind me asking how often you are guys are "doing the deed"? What I've been reading now around the web is that every other day is best for optimal sperm count.

Suzie, so glad you guys are taking a break.

Welcome to all new ladies!!!

Wondering how doing low carb and nursing are going for you? I tried last year when nursing my lil one but I craved carbs like crazy by night time feedings if I did well during the day.

I'd say 2-3 times a week, depending on the week. But I also have very irregular periods. They're getting a little better, but it's about. Every 45-65 days and then it'll last a full two weeks. Not fun. I'm trying Metformin for the second time. First time it wrecked havoc on my body. But now I'm trying again with a lower dose and long acting version. So far so good.

Hi ladies,

Ahem! I have an announcement to make: After nearly 2 1/2 year of TTC, our first round of IVF was successful and I'M PREGNANT!!! I tested positive on a HPT on 11DPO, then it was confirmed on August 1st and 3rd with betas at the fertility clinic.

DH and I are just over the moon right now and kind of in disbelief that it worked the first time around. After so much disappointment, it's hard to get your hopes up yet again and believe something will work. I have my first ultrasound on the 28th. I've been tired, had sore boobs, and heartburn/nausea. We'll be with the RE until I'm at 10 weeks, then go to my regular OBGYN.

Thank you, everyone! So happy I finally have good news. We transferred 2 blasts, so I will find out at my ultrasound of we have 2 babies growing, or just 1.

When is your ultrasound? You know I'll be waiting here tapping my foot to find out how your little bean(s?) are looking!
