It's a BOY! ...and I am officially out numbered hahaha! Wesley David was born at 9:17 am on 1/6/14. 9lbs 13oz and 21.5 in. He looks just like his big brother Harris did, only chubbier lol.

He is a big baby just like all of them in our family. I am glad I opted for the repeat c-section. Delivery was smooth, I talked the doc into signing me out after only 2 nights so we could come home and celebrate Harris's 3rd B-day.

Harris is absolutely in love with his baby "brudda". I hope the novelty doesnt wear off!

Alie - Good for you for standing your ground! My doc did not pressure me into a c-sect either with DS#1. She let me go home when it came down. We still ended up there and I was totally happy with the outcome but no way was I going to let anyone make the decision for me. Keep us posted!

CJ - She is such a doll and that dress is gorgeous!

DP - Great to hear from you and to Stella!

Congrats Andi!! What an adorable baby. Wow, perfect!!!!

I am 6w4d today and feeling pretty great. My boobs are sore and I have some mild cramping but other than that, i feel great! No nausea.

I had my first prenatal appt. last week and everything went great. My prenatal blood panel looks great. Next appointment (12 weeks) we will get to hear the heartbeat... then 20 weeks is the first u/s. I am so impatient; I don't know how we will survive that long It is just such a weird feeling. How do you know everything is going well in there?!?!

I need some gluten free/lowish carb lunch ideas for work... I am at a complete loss for ideas. I would like something easy that I don't need to do a lot of prep work in the morning. The only thing I can think of is salads, which is not very easy to put together in the morning. I would typically bring chicken salad from the deli and I have decided to cut that out just to be safe. Any ideas from you ladies would be great!!

Hope everyone is doing well!!

I have some news too! I gave birth to my son Miles Francis on Friday night. He weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and 19 in. My BP was basically stroke levels for about 2 hrs and would not come down. I knew we couldn't wait any longer and agreed to have a csection that evening. We were admitted at 5:30 and he was born at 7:14! He is absolutely perfect. He scored a 9 on both of his Apgar tests. During delivery they found a true knot in his cord. Could have ended up badly so I'm very relieved we acted when we did.

The csection itself actually a nice experience. And I am recovering very well.
Going home tomorrow. I get waves of sadness about how my situation turned out. Not only the birth experience but him being early. But he is here and healthy and just the sweetest little guy. I have nothing but relief and happiness so I'm focusing on that.
I will post pictures when we settle in at home.

CONGRATULATIONS ANDI and STARGIRL!!!

So happy for you guys! Andi, I knew it was a boy! Stargirl, I'm sorry you didn't have the experience you wanted. I would be upset as well. We all like for our plans to go the way we've thought them through. But, you now have healthy little boy in your hands, so it all works out.

Thanks everyone! I am thrilled with my family of boys.

Alie, I'm so glad you posted. I knew the baby was here but wasnt sure how it went. That is basically the same thing that happened to me and DS1 was born at 38 wks. I'm glad the recovery has been good, both of mine have been a breeze. Congrats on the healthy baby boy and take care of you! It's ok to grieve the birth you didnt get but that little man will make you so happy that you did what you could to protect him and get him here safely. Congrats!!!!

Thanks ladies Post partum hormones and lack of sleep are a bad combo! We got home this afternoon and I am already feeling so much better about everything. Feeding is tough but we are trying. He is a very sweet and calm baby. Sleeps a lot and doesn't seem picky about many things.

I'm glad things are going well for you Andi! That is an adorable little boy

Well after lurking here since my last...I'm back and pregnant with #3! We have 2 boys already they are 2 and 4.5 years. I love them to bits...and I secretly wish for a 3rd boy just because my husband says that gives the option for a 4th child and I always wanted 4 kids lol! But we won't find out, we love the surprise. I'm early just about 4.5 weeks along. As usual I'll have to grapple with what to eat...but I'm making a point to really try and enjoy and appreciate the miracle my body is going through because in the past I was so obsessed with fear over weight issues I missed out on it at the time, and then mourned in hindsight.

Congrats to all the new healthy babies and moms in this group! Looking forward to being a part of it.

Alie!! I'm just now getting caught up from last week! Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!!! He's perfect! And you said it, with that knot in his cord, your high BP was a blessing in disguise. Enjoy your new bundle! If you have any questions on BFing, there are plenty of seasoned pros around here. I'm not one of them, but I have successfully been tandem nursing my boys exclusively since Jan. 1 (woohoo, no more pumping!).

Rainypep - Congratulations!! Look forward to having you back on the board!

Macc - Yay for a good first appointment, and that's awesome you're feeling well! As for lunch, leftovers are always nice and easy. A few more ideas - a loaded salad, bunless burger with bacon and avocado, Chipotle bowl with little or no rice, meat/marinara sauce over spaghetti squash, stuffed avocado (shrimp, cheese, pico or salsa).

Thanks Sutton congrats on the nursing! That is amazing. Things are going slow with that on our end but it is to be expected since he was early. I know it will work soon. So now I'm pumping every 2 hrs and about 3/4 of his bottles are breast milk. It is exhausting but worth it. My supply is slowly increasing daily.

Any tips to staying low carb with morning sickness? I have had terrible all day, whole pregnancy sickness for all my pregnancies and have taken meds for each one just to survive, but I was wondering if anyone has had success avoiding toast, fruit and crackers, which is all I can really stomach. I do occasionally get a good low carb meal in but...

Rainypep, I wish I could help, but I didn't experience morning sickness. You might try B vitamins and magnesium to help with the nausea. I've heard both those things can help, and since I've always taken them, maybe that's why I didn't have morning sickness?

If that doesn't work, maybe try berry smoothies with protein powder to get in some fat and protein in disguise. Also, how does Greek yogurt sound to you?

Little man had his 2 week appt yesterday and is doing great. He exceeded his birth weight by 12 oz! Nursing is slow going. I am lucky to get him to latch twice a day. Spending a lot of time pumping but it is worth it. It's getting a little easier everyday.

Alie, I totally feel you on the pumping. I put up with it for 3.5 months! Keep practicing with the nursing, he'll get it eventually and you can ditch the pump!

I have been super busy with baby and all sorts of life changes. DH unexpectedly lost his job of 12.5 yrs, we are still planning our move back to my hometown and with both of us home, we are getting all sorts of things off our "to do" liist!

I would love to hear from Debbie too!

Alie - pumping blows but sounds like baby is doing great with the weight gain so at least you know it is working! I just had my pump delivered yesterday and will probably start on my freezer stash soon. I am not looking forward to pumping when I go back to work but it will be worth it to me.

Rainey - I dont get m/s either but I cant stay low carb in the first tri. I was a carb binger in both of my pregnancies and then I was able to get back on track around week 12 or 13. Nothing else sounds good in the beginning! Sorry I am not much help.

So I gained 18lbs with my pregnancy and I am down 32lbs. Baby will be 4 wks old on Monday.

You are doing awesome Andi! I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's job. What terrible timing I hope something new comes up for him when you relocate.
Congrats on the weight loss! I'm jealous!! I gained 35 lbs and am down 26 in 3 weeks. I'm not even trying to lose weight, I just forget to eat. I'm too busy.

I never got m/s either and I didn't stay low carb during my pregnancy. All I wanted in the 1st tri was bread!

Hope Debbie and Dominick are doing well.

Andi - wow, I'm jealous of your weight loss! I've been holding steady at 15lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight. Of course, I haven't done anything to try to lose it, so I guess I'm not surprised.

I've been using the ovulation sticks since the last day of my period. I know I could have waited a while, but I wanted to test the WHOLE month. I wanted to get a feel for my body, and make sure nothing funky was going on.

I was starting to get worried that I would see all negatives and would be on my way to tests and procedures. However, today I got a big blaring positive for ovulation!

I was glad just to see the positive and know my body is doing what it is suppose to! Of course, DH and I are taking advantage of that positive as well. ha ha
