800 mg ibuprofen (preferably the gel caps) chased with a Coke Zero. Only thing that worked for me! (no longer an issue.......)

oh man, I really want one of those! My uterus has been great to me until recently, but it's revolting against me now and I really don't need it anymore. My period just depresses me so much...it's crime scene horrible.

LOL!
I had mine removed because I had cysts in and around my uterus. One of them, to quote the doctor, was "as big as a babys head" ![]() I asked him to put it in a jar and save it for me, or at least take a picture. I really wanted to see it! When I asked for the picture later, he said "Uhh. The camera broke." The story doesn't end there! A year or two later I'm sitting in his office after an exam and he tells me this story about how one crazy lady wanted a picture of it! I embarrassed him (on purpose) by telling him I was that crazy lady. ![]() |

I read the title as numbering and was wondering why the heck people numbered their uteruses and what the heck that meant.

Seriously. Not kidding. Believe me. I teach high school Biology so for whatever reason I am CONSTANTLY having discussions about periods with individual girls, not necessarily a whole class of kids. I always preface the conversation with I am not a dr and do not give medical advice. But... TUMS! Ya know the soothe your stomach ones. Something about the calcium being pain blockers. My ob-gyn shared it with me. I just happen to keep TUMS in the large bottle on my desk. If a girl gets into them i just happen to be busy doing something else. Girls always come back to tell me how amazing it is and they shared it with their Mom or friends. It does not count as medication, worse case scenario, they get some extra calcium. I have had Moms call just to say "Thank You!" who would have thought it doesn't require knocking me out. Used to be Vicodin didn't even phase those nasty things. I have since chose to get rid of them, the factory didn't work so why deal with the product. When it did, it was evil, until I discovered TUMS. Just a simple crazy easy solution.

I used to take prescription Naproxen. A double dose of Aleve is probably the same thing.
I have so many aches and pains now I've usually already taken Tramadol or Excedrin and I just have to suffer through the cramps. I get almost daily headaches which only Excedrin touch, but Aleve or Ibuprofen is the only thing that helps cramps. |

I really don't know why we just can't get a hysterectomy when we are done having kids. Why put us through years and years of periods when we don't need them or want them?

No kidding! I have terrible pain the first full day of my period. I had an ablation a few years ago and have very little flow, but the pain was sending me to bed moaning. One day, I decided to try one of my husband's Vicodin. Voile - no more pain. Of course, I slept for 8 hours, but it was a fair trade off.

hate it...maybe I'll ask my doctor about a hysterectomy. I doubt she would agree to it. |
