Congratulations, Taryl!!

Hopefully, we're not hearing from Lori today because she's busily in labor or caring for her newborn!

Ben's first birthday party yesterday went very well. Everyone loved the food, our monster theme and decorations were a hit, and all the other little kids had fun He got a bunch of new toys and clothes he doesn't really need, and a few things I'll be running around to return/exchange because they were duplicates (WHY is it that the ones that are duplicates are NEVER the ones accompanied by a gift receipt?!).

Today is Ben's actual birthday. I can't believe he's a year old already, and that we'll have another one here in October/November! Here's a couple pictures (I made his smash cake with coconut flour, so no grains, and a whipped cream icing made from heavy whipping cream, so very little sugar):

Congratulations, Tayrl! She is so pretty and love her name!

Happy first birthday, Ben! Your eyes are so beautiful!

Welcome Peretroika, I had PPD too. It can be crippling. For me, though, going to work helped me a lot. I felt being at home with the baby very isolating and having the adult interaction at work very helpful. Plus I love my co-workers, they are like a second family to me and I missed them terribly when I was out on maternity leave. I agree with Suzanne about taking a pill not being the only answer. I am on Wellbutrin, but I also am in therapy and every day is still a struggle. I have guilt about leaving them in daycare, but I love my dcp and my older son especially seems so happy going there and that makes me feel better. I also deal with struggles in my marriage---DH and I apparently do not feel the same way about keeping our house clean. It is strange, he is a germaphobe, but he doesn't mind cluttering up our house. And I want to keep the house clutter free and be able to run a vacuum and mop every once in awhile but I can't because of all his clutter. That is depressing in of itself. Sorry, enough about me. I'm glad you are going to talk to your doctor. PPD is real and it is so different than regular depression (which I've also struggled with).

Take care,
Sharon

I have a five year old daughter, four year old daughter, two year old son, and now Holly. The five year old's next birthday is on April 5th, so she'll be six soon enough. They were all very excited to meet their sister and everyone is quite taken with her!

Best of luck Cassidy!

Stella is now laughing! She did it 2 days ago but I thought it was a fluke. Then she did it once yesterday and today I got her on video! I don't think my son laughed until he was like 4 or 5 months old

So happy for you Cassidy! Def lean on us for support, this is a great group.

DP - DS was a late laugher too. He is so serious! Always has been.

I think I O'd, had a huge temp spike this morning. We had good timing again this cycle so hoping its the one. May DTD one more time tonight just to make sure we are covered. Im glad we got busy as soon as I got back from Vegas on Sunday! I wasnt expecting O until like Wednesday but we DTD Sun and Mon so I think we are good. I have been taking CLO again as I used to take it when we were TTC#1 and I took it through my entire pregnancy too. Not sure why I ever stopped but I have read that it can help with fertility and just overall health, including your eggs.

Ok ladies, sorry about that.
Saturday morning I went for Acupuncture to induce labor (2nd time, different practitioner) and the massage therapist did some crazy action on my legs/ankles that hurt so bad I was in tears. Well I guess it worked! 4 hours later my water broke. Things progressed really quickly from there.
Water broke at 330pm Saturday afternoon. Contractions got to around 5 mins apart by 5pm. And by 8pm we were at 3 minutes apart and ready to go to the birth center.
My amazing birth team met me there, my sister, niece, doula and massage therapist/aromoatherapist.
Labor was intense! Once I got to the birth center things really kicked up a notch. I remember everything, but it was like I wasn't in my body. I wasn't really able to respond to anything going on around me. All my attention was on the contractions. I lost my sense of time. At some point they checked me and I was 7-8cm, I was happy with that! I went in the tub a couple times. Then finally, was told I was fully dilated, but the baby was still high. So we did some things to try and bring her down. It took a couple hours. I asked to go back into the water, but they weren't sure I would be able to bring her down and out in the water.
But I did it! Rose was born Palm Sunday at 645am in the water. 8 pounds 7 oz 20 inches long! She looks just like mommy! lol A FULL head of hair...you won't believe it!
No drugs, no episiotomy, no rips.
Now someone will have to remind me how to post pics on here? I have tons on FB, but have no idea how to get them over here.

Speaking of baby pictures, I have one of Holly from this morning, conked out in bed. The kid sleeps SO hard she won't wake to eat - I'm actually having to set alarms to wake her so she doesn't get dehydrated
