Missing hubby, he started night shift last week, nights a week. But has spent the entire weekend doing side jobs to earn some extra cash to pay for the midwife. So he hasn't been here all weekend either. Hate going to bed alone so many nights in a row.
My neck has been killing me from trying to sleep on my side! So annoying. Trying ice yet again, I iced a good long time last night and it wasn't as bad this morning. |

absence does make the heart grow fonder! i had the man home for the weekend and we got a lot accomplished - we signed on the house on friday and then he worked on packing up the kitchen for our move and kept the dogs occupied while i was at work. now he's back on the plane headed to work. next time he comes home it's baby time! hard to believe i only have 3 weeks left of work! i feel so big large and awkward. it still baffles me that there's a 5 lb human inside me.

I am due in 2 weeks (Oct 8) so I assume I will be before Krissy. I am also so uncomfortable. I am ready to be done with this pregnancy, but on the other hand I am not ready yet for him to be here, there is still so much to be done.
My sciatic nerve is flaring up sooooo bad, it is practically unbearable. It was good for a few weeks, but then starting getting really bad since Saturday. Right now, we are trying to figure out what convertible car seat to get for Brandon so the new baby can use his Chicco KeyFit 30 infant carrier. Anyone have any good recommendations? It also needs to fit my 2011 Subaru Forester in the rear facing position for quite awhile (we want to rear face until at least 2 years old if not longer).

I tried heat, ice helped the most. As a massage therapist we were always taught that heat is great as far as feeling good, but it doesn't help the problem. Heat increases inflammation and and ice decreases it. And to only use heat if you are going to follow it with ice. After a nice long icing last night my neck is 75 % better. And tomorrow I get one of the pregnancy massages my hubby got me for my bday! YAY!

I'm getting a headache dealing with all this GD stuff. The pharmacy called me to tell me the strips my doctor ordered were ready to be shipped, but I had a high co pay of $100 but they'd give me a coupon bringing it down to $60. I asked how many strips is that? Thinking it must be like 500 or something! She said that was for 100 strips! I told her that was crazy because I can go to walmart and get 100 for $40. So then she offered me cash patient pricing on a generic brand. How can they charge so much for this stuff? I don't even know yet what glucose meter the diabetic program is going to give me and set me up with, so why are we getting strips already anyways? ![]() |

Yay for a good ultrasound, Suzie!
And congratulations on the BFP, Andi! That was a long time coming for you Things are good here, the diet is more under control and I'm less fatigued. In fact, I began swimming three days a week and have been doing very well with that, and will add my TTap back in on the off days I'm not swimming. Officially 14 weeks and change now, so no matter what litmus is used I'm in the second trimester (some people say 12 or 13 weeks, it gets confusing!). |

Oh, and after much hoping and praying, it looks like I'm actually getting my homebirth VBAC! We cash pay our medical services, so a homebirth is much preferred. The hospital VBACs I've had were hugely expensive, even with no anesthesia or complications, just because they can charge more. So finding a CNM with one of our local birth centers who is willing to take previously successful VBAC witness at home is a blessing. We're talking paying $7500 for the birth, as opposed to $20,000.
Given that we write a check for it, I'm happy to be to be writing the smaller check. It's taking major budgeting every month, but is still very doable. And I've wanted a homebirth since my first daughter ended up being a transfer to an OB and ended in a c-section. Then, with our state's laws disallowing direct entry midwives from attending VBACs, I figured I'd always be stuck in hospital or going unattended at home if I wanted something else. This is a great compromise and I'm the first woman in our state in recent years who gets to try this with a licensed midwife at home. Guinea pig time for me ![]()

We got to that point too Suzie. We made it public right at 12 weeks but told mostly everyone as soon as we found out
I'm SO exhausted! Went for our run/walk tonight and it wore me out. It always gives me BH after too, which is annoying. I have about 3 weeks until dh comes home. Still no official date but we are getting there..thank goodness! |

I'm aiming for an out of hospital birth too. I have my midwife all lined up! We are paying $5600, after a 10% cut for paying in advance. People ask me "Why would you pay that when you have insurance and it would only cost you $100 to deliver at the hospital?" Some people just don't get it. My husband has been working night and day shift for the last week to save up the rest of this money, I feel bad for him and told him we can forget about the midwife so he doesn't have to kill himself like this, but he wouldn't hear of it! I'm so glad we are on the same page with the midwife delivery! When are you due? |
