that time

Seriously, for all you women, how do you handle the week before your tom. No matter how well I am doing, I have not found a way to control that week. Guaranteed i gain, cause I just cant stop putting things in my mouth. Salty, sweet, something. I cannot master that yet, what should I do. I lost 7 pounds last week, which was great, but due to munching, I have put back on at least 2-3 pounds and my tom is not even here until sunday. There has got to be someone in the same boat, or has something, a supplement, something. I usually would eat some eggs, but the week before tom, just the thought of it makes me

I hear ya. I have the same issue- but don't have the solution

(edit just to say that I stick to plan- just end up eating ridiculous amounts of 'legal' foods)

I tend to get ravenously hungry for a day or two during that time. Sometimes I just go with it and eat more, but try to at least eat on plan.

trust me I have tried. I really dont know what it is. It comes the week before and the that it actually comes I have no desire for food at all. i have eaten so much off plan these last couple of days, I mean really off plan. I have had white rice with curry chicken, ice cream, flatbreads, etc. even if I did not have a lot of them, i ate more than i should then I get mad at myself. so far today, i had some egg beaters, ketchup and hot sauce. I have iced tea and seltzer for now. I know once I get over that carb hump, i will be ok again, just getting there seems like an impossible task right now. I am hungry, hungry, hungry.

I don't try to fight it. I just eat more food. Its not a false hunger, I am really hungry so I don't try to fight it. Your body does burn a little bit more during that time so it makes sense to me that it would demand more food to compensate. I don't eat off plan though. I know I will retain water the week before and the week during, but its not an actual gain. The water retention goes away after TOM is over.

Coffee w HWC or Hot tea with VCO helps to aid in my satiety.

I usually don't even notice that my hunger has increased and that I have put on some water weight and/or stalled until after TOM arrives. I just eat if I am hungry. Then I look back at my weight and hunger fluctuations for the past week and say "oh, THAT explains it!"

I don't have a TOM due to getting the depo shot. However I'm a ravenous craver sometimes and I just have to have smart snack options on hand, like sliced up meats with hot sauce (hot sauce curbs my appetite), cheeses, I'll make club soda sparklers with lime or lemon, or slushes with coffee and a splash of cream (the slushes seem to have more bulk in my stomach so i feel fuller). Celery sprinkled with PB2 is also nice. Hope some of this helps!!
