I had a down day yesterday, we have all been there. James got a horrible rash from some salsa on my burgers, so that freaked me out. Too bad, cause I loved salsa or cheese on my burgers, but I have had reactions to both! So, plain burgers it will be.
I am praying for all of you struggling with getting your eating low carb again, don't stop trying!

Depression sux. We have all been there.

DP - hang in there sweetie and enjoy your "mental health" day!

Carlini - more

suzanne - thank you! its a struggle everyday but I am determined to make this work. I am down 4lbs just from yesterday! That's the thing, I know LC works for me but I need to get my head in the game.

Menu for the day:

B - 2 hb eggs, lots of bacon and coffee w/ cream
L - cheeseburger patty over romaine, mayo/mustard to dip
D - grilled garlic & herb sausages, broccoli w/ buttah!

I made some jello because I have been craving sweets. Will probably have some tonight.

I tracked my calories and also was pretty religious with my gymtime, 2-3 miles a day. If I remember correctly, I was aiming for 1200-1500 cal, 90g protein, 80g carbs, ?? fats (i never was a fan of light or diet fats - mayo, dressing, cheese, veg dips, etc). Personally, I allowed more carbs because i was working out, but it wasn't like I was eating pasta or loads of bread - apple & pb, diet or whole wheat bread, cheerios & banana, etc... healthier carb choices, 30g or so per meal. I was and am still on 2000 mg metformin/daily which I consider a lifesaver.

I made it, lol. Although, I did serve dinner at 5pm. I sure miss my cheese and salsa, but at least my baby is not bright red with bumps all over his face tonight.

Wonder if you can find a sub for the salsa? Even just some diced tomatoes. Glad your little one is better. I can't believe he had such a reaction!

Do you thinks he's allergic to tomatoes or just the "heat" from the salsa?

Morning everyone. Another rainy, miserable day here. I wish I could call in sick and spend another day in my pajamas!

Baby is moving like crazy this past week. Seriously I don't think this kid sleeps!!

I am not sure. I am feeding him just meat and eggs now, he is fine. I will add foods in slower this time, so I can judge each reaction more carefully. When I ate the salsa, I got really hot and sweaty after, so my body did not react well either.
Busy day for me today. Bible study lunch, grocery store, soccer for Andrew. Plus, hours upon hours of nursing James!

Good morning, had a little "scare" yesterday. My vision in my left eye got all weird and I got sharp shooting pains on the right side of my head. I looked it up online and everything I found said "Blurry vision" is normal but not accompanied by headache, so I called the doc. They said to drink extra water and take my blood pressure today and call them if it's 130/80. It was great at my last appointment. Totally weird.

gosh, i hope you're ok! Have you ever had a migraine? I used to get them all the time, and it always caused weird vision issues for me.

I used to get a lot of migraines, but rarely get them anymore. This felt different. It was really hot here yesterday and we don't have ac at work, so it may be heat related.

Lori - i hope it's nothing serious!
I've been really good lately. I actually forgot that i was pregnant yesterday because i felt pretty normal most of the day. The insurance issues have been resolved (i think), so i shouldn't have any more financial surprises. I started exercising a little bit, with some gentle squats and yoga stretches. After about 10 squats I was sore the next day! pathetic haha!

At work, I have clients with special needs, and one of them straight out asked me "Are you having a baby?" I haven't even told people yet! How in the world did she pick up on that? I was too stunned to even respond.

I love those days where you feel normal. I had one on monday! I need to do more stretches!
Clients with special needs? Sounds like we might be in the same line of work or similar!
I work at a day care center with adults with autism, downs, etc.
What do you do?

Oh! Cool!
I've told everyone at work, the way I feel most days it would be hard to hide. And hubby and I have decided not to keep it from anyone, but to just enjoy it and rejoice in it.

I try my best to keep my family low carb. I serve mostly meat and vegetables, eggs, sausage, bacon. They eat a lot of eggs and cheese. At home, they are low carb, not nearly like me though. But, outside of the home, they make their own choices. Andrew is at his friend's house today and will eat whatever they serve and probably have juice too.
I do occassionally serve potatoes, but a very small serving.
And if they want ice cream, it is a treat and we go out for it. Maybe 3 times a summer.

I've been thinking of going back on metformin. My doctor said to just give him a call and he'll prescribe it, so it's in my court. I know in the past though that diet change was enough and I need to just pull my head out...

We told everyone we were pregnant almost right away. We made it "official" after the first trimester.

Suzanne- Ice cream here is a treat too. I have sf Popsicles in the freezer but they too are a treat. My son is a HUGE snacked so we aren't lc at all. I always serve him a side of "carbs" with my lc meal. I had major food issues as a child/young adult and I don't want to push them on him

Lori - I hope everything is ok!

Amy - that is crazy that she called you out!

Suzanne - I keep my family LC too. I have for years. If we have any junk in the house, its a special trip that DH made because I wont buy it. I dont restrict DS's food though so he eats freely when we are out and about. He does prefer veggies, meat and berries though! Our family thinkks its amazing but its what he knows!

Menu for today:

B - 4 egg ommelette w/ cheese, coffee w/ cream. I was starving!
L - cheeseburger patty over romain, mayo/mustard for dipping
D - grilled chicken legs, some kind of veg
S - jello

not that it's a crutch but it did help the scale budge and curbed my appetite tremendously. i think i was down 16 lbs within the first 2 months then the next 5 came off with exercise and then we got pregnant at 204 lbs. but the first few weeks are bubbleguts it also taught me that just because i'm taking it, doesn't mean that i can pig out with the carbs, or the booze for that matter.

I had a great dr appt today, she scheduled me for 2 non-stress tests a week starting at 30weeks and another anatomy U/S at 32w. next i need to look into classes and pre-register at the hospital and pick a pedes dr. Things just got real, yo!!

Getting close Krissy!! Fun

My son is a VERY good eater as well. I make and serve everything healthy. I kind if have to for the daycare so that's a perk too. He asks for hotdogs with broccoli whenever I ask what he wants to eat! For lunch he had steak, avocado, and stir fry veggies with some brown rice. now if I can just get a hold on his snacking. I try to keep good snacks around so that helps, and he does ask for fruit a lot.
