Hi ladies!

So I took a test yesterday at 10 DPO and BFN. 6 months down and nothing yet. This is so hard! Honestly I think I took for granted how easy it was with DS. We were pg on the 2nd cycle! Oh well, I'm just going to focus on losing weight and keep plugging along. DH is comforting and expects these things to take a while but I am impatient! I hope I didnt offend any of you who struggled with conceiving. That was not my intention at all!

Menu for the day:

B - coconut milk smoothie w/ choc protein pwdr and 1 spoonful of natural pb
L - 2 burger patties w/ 2 oz cheddar
S - salami slices & 2oz mozzarella
D - grilled pork chops and broccolini

Have a great day everyone!

Sorry to hear it Andi

My ex fiancé and I tried for years to get pregnant and couldn't. Drs told me that I probably would have a difficult time conceiving. But with my husband, my daughter was conceived with TWO forms of bc!!

I know it's not comforting, but it'll happen. Until then, come here and vent!

Speaking of beef and cabbage, has anyone tried Linda Sue's "moms crazy cabbage"? I made a couple changes to it and while it was pretty good, one night I wanted soup, so I tossed it into some chicken broth, and WOW!! Amazing!!

Adding the ingredients to my grocery list. A couple thick slices of this with a simple lettuce salad would make a great lunch for the work week!

Andi, it was excellent! The only thing I would recommend is putting it on some type of rack over a pan so that the bacon on the bottom cooks thoroughly. Mine didn't. Other than that, followed the recipe and it turned out great! I have 3 more servings in my fridge, and another roll still frozen for next week!

Sorry Andi It's still a bit early tho. You may want to retest in a few days.

As for me, I'm doing the same and shifting my focus from TTC to a healthy diet and exercise. I'm still charting and just waiting to O this month. I'll be 36 next week so I'm bit nervous about how long it's going to take me, but I'm trying not to stress myself out.

How is everyone today?
Aww I hope u feel better! Yeah the good old carb loaded diet Maybe some broth will help. Is it just a flu bug? Congrats on the loss lol not on the feeling yucky tho

Umm 2day has been craptastic. I am waiting on a call back from the Ped of whether we will be going there 2day or what not. Jax is just not getting better after all. He is crying hysterically after feedings and pretty much all the time. Nothing we are doing seems to be making a difference. I thought the Nutramigen was but I guess not. He still is having the distended stomach, horrible gas pains and Idt its colic cuz its all the time.. not just periods of teh day or night. We use gas drops withe very bottle, use the Dr Browns bottles, burp super frequently...idk... u name it, weve done it or do it. Even the Colic Calm. I just dont know when to wonder if its something else.. like GERD (altho hes not throwing up constantly) or some kind of GI thing. I just cant accept that him being in pain constantly is "normal" or just colic. Im at my wit's end today tho.

I did make it through a small shopping trip to grab a few things. I picked up some hemp seed. Does any1 use that? I figured Id try it to add in good fat to stuff. It has no carbs so thats a plus I put a tbsp in with my chia seeds in my shake. I also picked up the Low Carb ketchup, 4 lbs of 85/15 beef (lol Suzanne youd be proud!) and some more veggies. Still planning on the crackslaw 2nite. But then again maybe Ill do the beef roll thingy and just make cabbage and onions as a side. We'll see how the rest of the day plays out

Hubbys bday is 2mrw so Im tryin to think of what to make for a bday dinner since he works til abt 730... and gets up at 3am, dont really wanna go out to eat. Hmmmmm

I'm focusing on getting healthy too. I'd like to lose about fifty pounds and then maintain it for a few months before trying again. I've had two plus-sized pregnancies, and two very difficult pregnancies/deliveries/recoveries, and I'm not looking to repeat them.

Lol hell pretty much eat anything. He eats LC cuz he eats what I cook lol or pack him for lunch so that makes life easier. I have chicken breast or the ground beef rght now available but I can get another meat 2mrw am if need be. He loves spaghetti (I use Dreamfields when I make it for him), loves meatloaf so thats why maybe I shoud make those meat rolls 2mrw? Ummm idk.. literally hes not picky. Idt theres ever been anything Ive made that he didnt like. He likes seafood alot cuz hes originally from Hawaii. But Im terrible at cooking seafood. I dont really like anything besides crab lol so i dont bother with it. Occassionally Ill do tilapia. Oh and I eat tuna lol. I wanted to get him a cake or somethin but knew Id wanna bite..so instead I got him a single serving of this gourmet cookies and cream oreo brownie from the bakery. So no cheating for me!

The bacon beef roll is great! Or you could try fried chicken, using a coconut flour/almond meal/flax combo. Also, my BFF gave me a great recipe for LC cheesecake. It's amazing!!! I have some in my freezer now

Oh and I have a great tilapia recipe, too..

I to cook!

Hit the super Walmart after I dropped Ben off this morning and spent about $150 on groceries But it is more than we'll need for a week, plus I stocked up on some things (like frozen veggies) since I lost some stuff when our power went out.

Hot here, too, and my home office is upstairs, which gets super hot because we have the cathedral ceilings, so there's really no buffer between the roof and this room. It's definitely the hottest room in the house. It feels nice when I go downstairs! I can bring my laptop down and work in the living room sometimes, but for certain projects, I need my giant desktop monitor.

Well doc finally called back just now and the POA is to give him 2cc of Maalox before a feeding.. 3-4 times a day. So like every other feeding. He wants me to do that for about 3 days and see how he holds up or if i notice a difference. He said if theres no difference then he wants to see him. Praying this helps. I wonder if it some how is hereditary? Cuz I have GERD and a hital hernia. But Ive not heard of it being so but idk maybe?

My son was on Maalox at a young age too...took about a year to figure out it was because he's allergic to milk. I hope this eases his symptoms a bit. I know how frustrating it is to not know what is wrong

Our master bedroom gets like that.. its on 2nd floor above the garage and I swear it somehow gets extra heat from that. We have a ceiling fan so that helps alil. But its crazy... the way our upstairs is... we have a gameroom/2nd living room and you go through that and theres our bedroom door and then a hall way into our room and as soon as u open the door into the game room.. its like 10 degrees colder it feels like. Lol drives me nuts and our house is brand new too. Grr!

Do any of you plan a budget for grocery shopping? I always try to stick to $200 every 2 weeks lol but I swear its a rarity for me to stay exactly on point. I know its only gonna get worse when lil man gets older.. like school age and will be eating like a linebacker haha. Im gonna try to be more on point with watching for meat sales and def will be getting the 2nd freezer sometime before the end of the year!

DP...Aww did it seem to help him at all? Or no cuz of the allergy? Maybe this combined with the expensive formula will make a difference. I really dont want him to have to endure any kind of testing and stuff when hes so young

I got it from a friend, so I can't give props to the source... I think she is from Australia...?

Low Carb Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake

Base:

150g/5.3oz Almond meal (I didn't blanch mine this time)
50g/1.8oz Desiccated/finely shredded coconut
60g/2.1oz butter, melted
12 splenda tablets, crushed or 1/4 cup of granular splenda
dash of vanilla

Filling:

600g/21.2oz Cream Cheese
250g/8.8oz sour Cream
2 Eggs
25 splenda tablets, crushed or 1/2 cup splenda granular
1 tsp vanilla extract
75g/2.6oz Lindt 85% dark choc, melted

Butter a 23cm spring form pan and Preheat oven to 170C/340F

Combine base ingredients and press into the base of the spring form pan and bake for 15 mins or until golden. Reduce oven temp to 140C/284F

Beat together all of the filling ingredients EXCEPT the chocolate and pour over the base. Tap gently to burst any large air bubbles and swirl the melted chocolate over the top.

Chuck in oven for 30mins and then turn the oven off and leave it alone for a long time, preferably overnight to cool. If you take it out to soon it may crack. When cooled, chill in the fridge.

That's it, how easy is that and it came out perfect!

Nutritional Information for 10 serves:

(only thing not included is the dash of vanilla in base)

Per Serve

Using splenda tablets:

518 calories, 10.9g protein, 50.5g fat, 5g carbs

Using splenda granular:

523 calories, 10.9g protein, 50.5g fat, 6.5g carbs

^Omg that sounds beyond delish and I have pretty much all the ingredients. Im outta almond flour but planned on gettin some or just buying almonds and food processing them. I dont have the spring form pan but I do have a regular circle type pan or a glass 9 x 13 so I could always do it as bars maybe?

Aww poor little guys! My ds had a milk allergy for about six months. Luckily it cleared up and he's okay with it now.

Man I wish it was hot here!! It's mid July, but it is always so cold here . I actually have the heater on right now...

I try to budget, but I always seem to go over. However, that's probably due to my 3 year old wanting everything in the store. Well, that and my carb free red bull . I'm planning on making a strict menu (for ALL of us) as well as a budget and sticking to it. I'd like to take the kids to Disney in September, and I'm horribly broke right now... So I am trying to cut corners wherever I can. My husband was laid off for a long time, and we didn't collect unemployment, but now we're horribly in debt . Hence the other reason we're not ready for another little one right now....

Ideally, I'd like to lose a 100 pounds, but it's my age that's freaking me out. I just don't feel like I have the time to lose weight. We'd like to have at least two if possible, so I'm really feeling the pinch. I just keep praying I will get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy.

Bars will be great too! Trust me, the coconut flour really makes the crust so if you have that, you'll be golden.

The tilapia recipe is super easy. Take 2-3 filets and put them in a glass baking dish. Pre-heat to 350. Get some Goya sazon (with achiote) and sprinkle liberally on the filets. Then take a can of rotel (with chiles) and dump it over the filets. Chop some cilantro and sprinkle on top. Cook until fish is done, like 17 minutes maybe. Squeeze lime juice over it and some extra fresh cilantro, and voila! Instant yumminess

Ughh that musta been so hard...was he not able to get unemploy? I agree that food always puts a huge dent in our pocket but I try not to stress about it cuz I figure that Im not willing to eat all the starchy and processed tv dinners etc so that if its the price I pay to feel better than it is what it is. But it makes me mad that everything healthy costs more! I did love the commissary tho.. they run alotta great deals and then added coupons Oh and Im jealous of your Disney trip Lol somehow we lived by Disneyland for over 2 yrs yet we never made it there. I want to take DH to Disney World cuz hes never been and I have been a few times. We love Disney movies. Maybe once Jax gets alil older

Ideally, I'd like to lose weight before getting pregnant again, but I'm around 210 right now, and I have to remember that, even though that's high (I'm about 5'6, so not super tall), it's great compared to where I was 3 years ago - my highest recorded weight in my medical record was 324. The morning of my weight loss surgery, I was 308.5. I have to really force myself to remember that to keep things in perspective and realize that 210 isn't so bad! As long as I'm healthy, I won't be too hard on myself about the number on the scale. After all, no matter how much weight I lose, I'll never have a physically nice body, so I'll always be wearing "shaping" undergarments, never a sleeveless top, never a swimsuit without some sort of cover-up, etc., so healthy is all I can strive for

How old are you, if I can ask? I worry about age, too. What kind of woe are you following? I will say a prayer for you too
