Welcome, Lindsey! Congrats on the weight loss! And good for you for staying active through the pregnancy, I wish I had done that before (and was doing it now in my current pregnancy!) This time around, my sciatic nerve is killing me....it is awful.
My mom said that she had horrible sciatica when pregnant with me, so I guess this is payback? Lindsey, just curious, have you been staying lc during your pregnancy? Why or why not? Oh, and I think it's a great idea to have a changing station upstairs and downstairs. That is exactly what we did too, and we still utilize both of them (Brandon is 7 and a half months). It was great to have in the first few weeks too (I didn't have a c-section, but I felt like I got hit by a couple MAC trucks after my long induction and labor with him).

I hate comparing DS to other babies....but should I be worried that he isn't sitting up on his own yet? He is 7.5 months now.

Eeep! I have missed a lot this weekend.
![]() Lindsay!Jilly - I am so sorry about your Dad. ![]() DS has FIL's middle name as his first name, Harris. If we have another boy we will use my Dad's name as the middle name, David. I love carrying on family names. If we have a girl, we will use my Aunt's name as the middle name, Aurora. Oregon - Sorry that this cycle wasnt yours! It wasnt mine either so I am back to waiting for O and that it happens soon for both of us! DS is getting so big and he is so funny and talking a lot. He can be bossy and ornery and then kiss your face all up. Such is the life of an (almost) 17 mo old! He still hasnt had more than an oz or two of milk since we took the bottle away on 5/26. He is eating a ton of food though and drinking plenty of water so maybe he just isnt into milk anymore. Fine with me! ![]()

He is a little late but not terribly behind. Is he close? Do you practice with him everyday? We used to sit DS up with his boppy around him for support and toys scattered around to reach for. Our pedi rec'd it and it helped strenghten his back and core so eventually he could do it on his own. It also helped him to reach and grab for toys.

Yes, we are practicing with the boppy. But, good ideas on scattering toys around for him to reach for, I never thought of that.
He sits up when he is in his infant lounger boppy pillow, he's been doing that for a few months now. But he doesn't do it without support yet. |

EveryoneI have a luteal phase defect, where the second half of my cycle is too short for the baby to implant. It's 9 days long when it should be 12-14. I've tried correcting it with b6 and Vitex, and each month no change. I'll be seeing a midwife or OB in the next few months, but I can't help but wonder if this is the start of a long drawn out infertility issue. I'm in my mid 30's, and we'd like to have 2 if possible. So just a little down today... knowing there is a problem, not sure if they can fix it... will I NOT be able to have children? I need to learn to think more positive.

Are you fresh off the pill? It could take a few months to regulate. If not, I would call the doc. More than likely your doc will test your progesterone levels a few days after you O and then prescribe a progesterone supplement like prometrium or something similar to help lengthen your LP if its necessary. I assume you are charting? Is that how you found out? Take all your charts in when you see the doc and speak with them about your options. |

Thanks Andi
I haven't been on the pill for probably close to 6 years now. Yes I've been charting. I was also thinking it was a progesterone deficiency, which I read is pretty easy to fix. Now I just need to find a helpful OB! |

How is everyone?
No thermal shift this cycle, so apparently I didn't ovulate this month. I swear Vitex has totally messed up my entire cycle! I need to get back to LC. It's the only thing that makes my body happy. |

As for me, I am on CD11 and typically O between CD14 - CD17 so I am getting super antsy! ![]() LC makes my body happy too, I need to stick with it! DP - glad you got to see the bambino! ![]() |

Anywho... I stay between 1600-1700 cals because I usually was at 1300 when I weighed 140. When I go back to full on Induction Im sure my cals will still be that around 1600 but some days Ill try to cut down to 1300 again. Anyways... while prego I have set my carbs for 100. Thats pretty high but I dont always hit 100. I kinda just based it off of the Maintenance stages of Atkins. It allows me to eat some carbs for Jaxon but without blowing up. Most of my carbs come in the form of veggies or sweet potatoes, and some grains like fiber cereal or oatmeal. I do love Sara Lee 45 Cals and Delightful bread which is lower carbs. For those that went back on Induction after pregnancy...how fast did you start to lose, etc? Last edited by JaxonsMomma2012; 06-06-2012 at 04:51 PM.. |

Anywho... we couldnt do it for like 3 months because Hubby had left the USMC and we were waiting for his new insurance to kick in. I schedule the appointment with the Fertility specialist and low and behold.. a week before the appointment we found out that I was prego. So believe me.. miracles DO happen. Ive even had a great pregnancy. But its so hard when your TTC and everyone around u can get prego if they blink. People dont understand the pain and emotions your going through and words never can help. But I will be praying yall have some luck hun. ![]() ![]() |

Aww ty hun! Umm its a blessing but a curse... after losing all that weight in 2005 and keeping it off.. it had made me pretty obsessive about my weight. It drives my hubby and fam nuts. But I have seen if I am not careful.. that it creeps back on and then I get depressed. So Id rather be happy and comfortable about myself..and if that means taking a few mins out of my day to track my food then hey..im doin it lol. Its helpful that my hubby tries to stay LC too and knows that we dont keep chips or regular bread products and candy in the house. Hes very supportive and it has actually helped him lose some of the weight he put on after leaving the Corps.

I want a baby girl but not a teenager
I'm really impartial honestly. I LOVE my son and am used to the boys so another boy would be great. I d love to dress up and play dolls with a little girl though. I hear about the obsessiveness. I am a recovered(ing) anorexic/bulimic. Everyday I have to watch myself. I so understand what you mean! |

Yeah exactly! I don't want to have to deal with someone like me

So, I had the 20w U/S yesterday and baby wouldn't budge for the shot of the business! Everything else is perfect, brain, heart, kidneys, weighs about 12oz, but baby was sitting indian style and NOT moving those legs for nothin. I think at one time the baby gave me the finger too.
DH flew in from his jobsite for this appt so we both walked outta there like --- huh. how about that. Sooooo.... still don't know what we're cooking! |

I was low carb for my pregnancy and was 157 when i gave birth, but that was 37 weeks, so I would have gained more. I went back to zero carb after the birth and lost the weight very quickly. I am now 117, which is heavier than I was before, but I like my new weight. I am 5 5 and used to weigh about 112. However, at 40 I looked a bit too thin.
My baby just got his 2 month shots today. Staying low carb for pregnancy can be very hard, but so worth it. |

I'm back at work today. It's tough - I just want to curl up in a ball and stay in bed all day. I purposely came into the office instead of working from home to avoid doing just that. And we're going to stay busy this weekend. We're renting a cargo van or pickup truck to clean out the rest of the junk in the townhouse so we can get it ready to rent out - there's not a ton of stuff there, but a few things that are too big for our cars, like a couple area rugs and a doghouse. Once that's done, we can change the ceiling tiles in the basement, and then we can schedule cleaners and carpet cleaners. Landscapers should be able to go at any time once we get the few junk items out of the back yard (like the doghouse!). And then we can finally get the townhouse on the rental market and stop hemorrhaging money with these 2 mortgages every month; once it's rented out, we'll still be beleeding since we can't rent out for as much as the mortgage costs us, but at least our bleeding will slow to more of a trickle :P
