PCOS... meds or no meds?
So I have another thread going over in CC ( How many of us CC'rs have PCOS? ) about PCOS.
I am curious on if you took any meds for it and how they worked for you? I don't know anyone in real life that they worked for. If you do/did take meds... how long did you ride out the side effects (or will do it) before it wasn't worth it anymore? |

Way too much time on my hands!

i've been on it for over a year. the first few months are when i lost the most weight, probably due to side effects - but i dropped 20 lbs in 2 months. it took just as long getting used to it though. yes there will be the side effects, but if you have pcos, you need to get your insulin resistance under control. there is an extended release version of the medicine available if you absolutely cannot handle the potty issues.

I'm 25, and I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. My OB/GYN put me on a low-carb diet to lose weight. She put me on Provera for 10 days to regulate my cycle, and it made me very groggy.
Luna, what type of medications are you referring to? |
