(Sorry guys) Time of month question
Do you basically maintain your loss or gain a pound or two during your cycle? I haven't lost an ounce this week and I'm ovulating and wonder if that has something to do with it. Super bloated, but maintaining the same loss

Totally normal to either not lose or gain at certain points in the cycle. There's a good 7-10 days out of the month that I simply cannot lose.

I seem to have issues right after ovulating. Based on my super reliable web research, I noticed that this is the time when progesterone is the highest. I am seeing my obgyn in 10 days and will ask about it. Then again i am in my 40s now, so I am sure I am going thru hormonal changes.

My first 2 months of LC, I stayed the same during my TOM, but I didn't give into cravings and give myself a treat.
These last 2 months, I did allow myself to have something I wouldn't normally eat and I did gain about 3 lbs. The weight left the week after my TOM, but between PMS, my period and then the re-losing those 3 lbs it has taken up 2 weeks/month of the last 2 months. So, this month, I will experiment and not go off plan and see if it makes a difference, like I think that it will.

Usually I just maintain but this month I've gained 3 pounds in two days. I know its just water weight but its so frustrating to be working out so hard and not cheating yet still seeing an upward swing on the scale.
On the bright side, my scale says my body fat percentage is down! |

When I am ovulating I am more bloated and in pain. It's worse than my actual TOM. Definitely, I gain 3 lbs. If not 3 inches.
What I do notice is that when I push my exercising the discomfort is lessened. |

1 Day before my TOM started I was up 2 pounds, next day up another 1/2 pound. Its finally tapered off, but boy was I angry at the scale at the beginning of this week...

Same thing here - I gain and have more water weight after ovulating and during TOM. I'm 51 now and my hormones are a mess. In fact, I just started a thread on HRT because I am frustrated with women issues and non-responsive dieting. I just started Progesterone to balance out my estrogen dominance and already gained 3 lbs in a week. eeek. I was hoping by balancing my hormones, I would be losing easier. So far - not but the jury's not out yet since it's too early. After TOM - I'm not experiencing much of a WHOOSH either. I can count on a 3 lb gain a day before TOM and that week or beyond. It gets harder and harder not to become plump and matronly. ![]() Welcome to the world of Women's Rite of Passage!

Be patient with the progesterone - it can take 3-4 months of regular use to bring estrogen dominance into balance. Losing weight adds to the estrogen in your system so you're fighting an uphill battle.
![]() I started using Traditional Medicinal's PMS tea this month, and I've had a lot less bloating than usual. I'm also trying acidophilus pills to break down the extra estrogen from weight loss and it seems like things are getting back to "normal." |

Very interesting....I did not know that by losing weight, the estrogen goes up even more. I would still feel better if I had the compound rather than pills that run through the liver. I've heard a lot of praises on the cream. Like your ideas on the Tea and acidophilus too. I am sick of the water-weight and won't take water pills. I drink a lot of water and limit adding salt but I'm not going to bathroom as much as I use to - to flush it out. I'm assuming my body is just holding on to it. It just irks me that all my years of dieting only to be faced with more roadblocks and possible failure at getting rid of these 10-15 lbs. I better make a move sooner than later trying the women's Clinic gynos that are more open to natural hormones and compounds. A bunch of pre-appointment paperwork needs to be filled out first. Thanks for the tips. |
