Some ladies will naturally lose weight when they are pregnant or won't gain much. Not me though - I've steadily gained this pregnancy. No doctor will let you diet though or encourage weight loss.

My advice is to lose weight as you try to conceive - it may take a few months. Once pregnant, try to eat healthy and keep weight gain to a minimal.

My story: I was losing weight and lost approx 25 lbs before I got pregnant (surprise) so I continued on Atkins maintenance. In the morning I couldn't tolerate eggs so I would eat oatmeal. I also added in more fruit and whole wheat bread. I gained 21 lbs during my pregnancy. But six weeks later I had lost 30 lbs. So I weighed less than before I got pregnant. Just stay on induction until you are pregnant and then switch over to Atkins maintenance or South Beach and you will do just fine. Its a very health way to eat while pregnant. Good luck and Best wishes!!

My advice is to lose as much as possible FIRST... I was about 60lbs overweight also when I conceived... and I can say that its harder to be overweight and pregnant... not that I have anything to compare it against... but I honestly feel that being so out of shape and heavier is taking a harder toll on my body.

And honestly... you have NO IDEA how you will tolerate food... so I would *count* on eating a certain way. When you are sick... you will eat whatever DOESN'T make you sick....

I did Carb addicts diet with my 2nd baby and I only gained about 12 lbs. I was way skinnier when I gave birth then I was before.

Here I found this. I'm going to wait next time to take a test just because I don't want to go through this heartache again. I was so excited when I got the positive and called my mom and SIL.

With the ultra sensitive pregnancy tests on the market today, it is easier than ever to get a positive result 3 or 4 days before your period is due. It is wonderful for those who NEED to know, but does have it’s down side. Early testing shows chemical pregnancies which would not have been detected had the woman waited for her period to arrive.
