Faint blue line = Pregnant?
Hello,
Here are my symptoms: 1. Felt possibly implantation a week to two weeks ago (a few days after an oops session with hubby) cramping from inside the uterine wall. Which was very prominent and fairly painful. 2. Over a week+ of tender breasts which isn't subsiding. 3. Delay between last menstrual cycle is about 36 days now. 4. Slight cramping,(or fullness feeling) but nothing like I have just before I start a cycle. 5. Feel like I am widening even though I am on a strict diet. 6. Feel like I am retaining water. 7. 3 or 4 days ago I took a "Clear Blue Easy" PG test. Negative. 8. Today around 3am I got up and took a test. Very faint blue line appeared. So faint I wasn't sure I was really seeing it. The line has not gone away. And everyone I've showed the test too, see's it too. So I'm not crazy! 9. Lastly, Usually during the week previous to starting my period I get at least one zit. Nothing, clear as a bell. Well accept for my normal and regular daily sink holes. hehe I think it warrants a visit to the Dr. dont you think? Edit: Quote:
*giggle* I liked that. My husband isn't hoping onto the excited bandwagon and tonight it's making me really sad. I feel so alone when he does that. I know he's happy, it's just I asked him.... In his opinion, should I A. Get another PG and re-do it tomorrow, B. Go see the doctor. He chose his own C. Go get a PG test in a few days and not worry about it. WTH! ![]()

I'm sorry he was being like that. Men can be such....butts. Mine was not too excited about our first two, and then when I told him about number 3, he didn't say a word, he just walked out and left for a few hours. He's happy about this one though...lol...(he'd better be if he knows what's good for him...rofl...just kidding)
Men just handle things differently, but he should have been more considerate of your feelings. That being said, get an appt to a dr if you don't start in 2 or 3 days. You don't want to wait too long, and if you do another home test and nothing shows up, you're going to worry anyhow. And don't let him poop out your party, honey! ![]() ![]()

Men deal with it so differently. Sounds like your dh is dealing with it close to how mine did... with a bit of denial....
I took a test and it very clearly said 'pregnant' no mistaking... of course dh's response was.... 1) its a cheap Walgreens test - how accurate can it be? and 2)well, its not 'for real until the Dr says so. I took the second test about 3 hours later and it said 'pregnant' also... even after that he was still... well... it's not 100% until after the dr says so. I said 'keep telling yourself that'. We both dealth with the absolute shock in different ways. I just had to give him as much slack as possible to deal with it in his way. He is a good man and I knew he would come right in the end. It wasn't that he was unhappy... he was just in shock. And honestly...he's still in a bit of shock. Even now at 5 months its a little hard for him. He sees the symptoms in me (being sick, belly getting bigger, etc) but thats me... not him... I can feel the baby move... he can't yet. The way he deals with it is to go out to work and get projects done to get ready for the baby... IE get a fence built... IE finish some home improvement projects... work extra hours to save $... That's what he can touch... that's whats real to him right now. I don't think men 100% know its real until they see the baby emerging and hold it. I come to the Expecting Mommies thread to get the support that I need in ways that he just doesn't understand. Granted he does support me... but women support each other in a different way. |

But in the end, it all comes down to me (i realized) and what I want to do. Afterall, this is my show now. He's just as you said, the bread winner, the fixit guy, and the person who drives me to the hospital to deliver. LOL I love my hubby, don't get me wrong. ![]() ![]() He IS a great guy and we've managed one little one. A second one, was in the plan. Just not this soon. However, the reason I didn't try to get pregnant over the summer is because he wanted me to just wait till the summer was over. "To have one good summer with Kate and rest." I was all for that. Now it's October. Time to get busy again. HA! For me, I just want a test sooner than later. One that has a FULL unmistakable blue line or a blood test. ![]() PS I love you avatar. Get a digital test. They say "pregnant" or "not pregnant".
They are kinda expensive but you cant read them wrong. |

If it were me I would be buying every brand of test there was to see if they all said pregnant Lol.
That's just me though. Finger crossed for whichever outcome you want. |

Well, I went to get the blood test. I'll know around 4pm MST or as late as tomorrow afternoon. For sure. Unmistakably for sure I'll know.

P.S. I just wanted to write this down because I am simply put, "in blue mood." Especially now because the doctors lab says the result still is not in. I'll have to wait till tomorrow. I'm incredibly nervous! For a multitude of reasons. Not that I don't want the baby. That's not it at all.
1. We are a month short to start our private health insurance plan. This alone pose's a huge problem. Just pre-natal is like $4,000 and they want you to pay that off by the time you deliver. 2. Afraid it will be negative, meaning something else has to be wrong. 3. If it is negative, I made all this fuss, for no reason. 4. Emotional distraught with worry. I know I shouldn't but I am! 5. If I it's positive. I still haven't lost necessary weight. I weighed in at 248 (with cloths) at the doctors today. And of course everyone says, "you can't diet while pregnant." 6. Diabetes, I hate it. More than anything in this world. It sucks. It sucks even worse when pregnant. On the plus side, it could be the urine tests may have been negative because of the week it is. Most PG tests are like 50-100 hcg detection. # 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml # 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml So up till late the 4th week, it could still be under those numbers. I don't know if this helps or not, but when my co-worker was pregnant the first time, it was an ooops. Did the PG home test and it came out +. Rechecked and still +. Called the Dr. to make an appointment and the nurse told her that they've had false negative home tests, but never a false positive.
So start behaving yourself like you're pregnant if you're not behaving already and go ahead and start on the pre-natal vitamins if you're not already. And Congratulations!!! ![]() |

I found out a few things during this process.
1. 2ish days after the (oops session) I think I ovulated. Which sometimes I do feel. Sperm can live in the area for up to 4 days. 2. Implantation didn't occur until 2 days ago. Which I have been feeling as mild cramping. 3. Only AFTER implantation does a pregnancy start to generate HCG levels. Thus why my pee tests weren't coming up positive. 4. By tomorrow I likely will get a positive home pregnancy test result. At least that's something you can show to your family right? I kepted Kates for about 2 months, I was so proud. Kind of like I am now. I started to doubt the pregnancy. But in my heart, and from all the rampant symptoms. I knew it. I just knew it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Kisha; 10-13-2009 at 09:35 AM.. |
