need some help please...

My sister has 2 weeks to go before she has a C section, she became diabetic with this pregancey she is on insulin at the minute to lower her sugar levels, she is a older mom at 40 so this is a common problem, she wants to eat at maintenance levels to keep her sugar in check for the next 2 weeks, and probably have to join me low carbing after the babies is here if she is still diabetic then, the baby is 10lbs right now and more in likely be 12lbs when she has the Section....anyone else been through similar or can some maintainers give me some guidelines for my sis, food wise, what can she eat etc as am not anywhere close to maintenance myself.....

Didn't her doctor give her a diet to follow? My sister had her only child when she was 42 and developed gestational diabetes, but her doctor gave her guidelines about what to eat. It was low carb, but not as low as most of us eat, and I don't remember the specific details.

Your sister should check with her doctor. If he/she is giving her insulin, surely there are also instructions about diet?

No diet instructions just to eat brown bread, pasta that is all she was told, does your sis still have diabetes after the baby was born or did it go away?
