Has anyone had issues w/Ortho Tri Cyclen?

I've been on it for 4 months now and for the last 3 of those months TOM has been showing up twice a month, for a full week at a time . I have an appointment to see my obgyn in a few weeks. His nurse said that the pill might not be strong enough. I've taken it a few years ago with no problems, but I wasn't doing LC then. Not sure that has anything to do with it though . Anyone else have issues with it?

are you taking name brand or generic?

I was taking the name brand and everything worked fine... then i had to switch to generic for ins reasons... same thing happened on generic. i don't care what *they* said about being that "same"... I know what my body did...

Yes, I'm taking the generic. My insurance wouldn't pay for the name brand either. My body is as healthy as it's been in a really long time, so it's good to know that others have had this issue too. Thanks for the reply

You could try switching... or just suck it up and pay the difference? I know my dr SWORE there was no difference... but I know what my body did when I made the switch.

Also, how old are you? I found when I hit 30 that I started having a lot of problems with the pill. I had been on it for 15 years no problems... all of a sudden 30 came and I started having really whacked out cycles.... twice a month.... constanst bleeding.... drove me crazy... which led me to go off all BC for a year to clear my cycle.... which then led us to get lazy with the BC.... which then led to me 4.5 months pregnant... haha.... LOL...

I was on this for years...and the AF pharmacy stopped giving brand name. When they switched to generic, it screwed my cycle up and my side effects were different. I requested brand name for this reason, and they gave it to me. I'm not sure if you have that option, but you could ask you dr to write you an Rx for brand name only.

I've stopped taking them for now & will tell my doctor what I was experiencing on them. I have an 11 month old, and not wanting another anytime soon, so we'll be extra careful until I get on the name brand or try another bc option.

Thanks ladies
