Nutrition Advice from a friend

"Pregnancy is a free ticket, girl. You can eat what you want. Don't deprive yourself."

HUH?????????

I'm already like 40 lbs overweight, some weight charts would even read 50 lbs.

Stats: Highest-217. starting-197/current-166/goal-160
WOE: Atkins (5'8" - current size 11/12)
Start Date: January 2009. Currently in Pre-Maintenance
first off - the way I see it (if you are pregnant...) I know that this is something I keep thinking about - as I hope to become pregnant/TTC next year after our wedding in June...

But I've changed my lifestyle so much - and gotten rid of JUNK food...why in the WORLD would I want to eat crap and junk food and "eat freely" when it's my unborn baby that I'd be nourishing??!!! If I'M not going to eat that twinkie, there's no way in he!! I'm feeding that to my baby!

Pregnancy is probably one of the most important times TO eat right - because it's NOT just your body you're feeding.

When I was pregnant I became 100 times better at taking care of myself. I weighed 205. I did water aerobics a couple times per week, I took my multi-vitamin with folic acid, I quit drinking diet soda and quit ingesting fake sugar, I quit eating sugar.

I didn't even gain weight until my last trimester b/c I was losing from the exercise. And I lost inches while getting more pregnant!

I wasn't on a diet but I was just being healthy.

Congrats!!
