Good Morning and happy September!

I am so happy it's started to cool off here... yesterday the high was ONLY 93! I know that sounds silly but it has been over 100 for so long that 93 felt good!

Cooled off too fast here.. really never got a real summer, there was only 1 week where it was scorching hot. Happened to be the one week of vacation we took and stayed with sister who does not have airconditioning though! doh!

Hoping September will be bring good things for all. I have another appointment with RE on the 21st, I believe I will finally be getting the elusive clomid I've been wanting to get.

Weight loss for August was so slow. Hoping things will pick up now that it's cooler.

Mel - love the new avi btw! So funny

Hey all mind if I join ya? DH and I are going to TTC in a couple months and I am getting back to induction to hopefully drop another 28lbs before then. Trust me I have a lot more to lose than that but I just want to get to my original "lose 50lbs before TTC goal." . Anyhoo, I dropped a chunk of weight earlier this year and have somehow fallen into maintenance mode all summer. NOT GOOD! I need all the support I can find to get there and I figure what better place to keep my eye on the prize?

Andi! You'll find lots of great support here!

Mel - I'm the say way with being excited about the cooling (although thankfully around her that doesn't mean 90s ) How is the adjustment to being back in school going?

Charlotte - here's to a fertile September! Sending you lots of whoosh and baby dust!

AFM, this morning I started temping again for the first time in about a year in expectation of IUI in the next couple of months. On the health-side, I'm in the lead for our company's BL competition, so that's pretty exciting (although I showed a gain this morning cause TOM's hanging out ) Things here are going well, and it's officially hump day, so the long weekend is coming soon

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Right now I am just focusing on geting back to induction and dropping some weight. I took my little dog Ruby out for a long walk on the beach yesterday and I stuck to my meal plan so hopefully I will fall back into a good routine and get things moving.

Kat - hubby out of town until late September so short of the postman ringing twice there will be no fertile September But I am planning on temping anyway to see if my body this one last cycle is working yet before trying the clomid. It's CD 1 for me, I'm starting temping on CD5 or so. Congrats on the BL comp. What's the prize? When is the end date?

Yay, Katy had her baby!! Wanted to bring the update over here for anyone who didn't see it on the other thread. Chloe!

Andi - Is that Ruby in your avi? She is such a cutie pie She's a good motivator to get you out and about

Charlotte - we are cycle buddies this month, yesterday was CD 1 for me, too. Thanks for the congrats. The comp ends the last Wed. of September, so I've definitely gotta stay focused. At the beginning we all put $5 in (there are probably a dozen of us doing it), and the prize is that $$, definitely a good little motivator

Mel - I think I forgot to tell you how much I that avi!

Does anyone have anything special planned for the weekend?

Congratulations Katy!! I love the name Chloe, it's my daughter's middle name.

My last cycle was very long (41 days I think?), I thought things were supposed to get back on track with weight loss.. grrrr. Now DH just found out that he has training during a week where he thought he would have been able to take as holiday to visit up north to see his dad for a week.. so now he wants to move the vacation for himself to end of September/beginning of October, exactly when I think I might be fertile on the next cycle. I could kill him! That's another cycle out the window.. leaving us only 2 cycles before he leaves. Wah! Maybe it's fates way of telling me to lose a lot more weight before getting pregnant.. I mean by the time he gets home I hope to be pretty close to goal.. but I'm fighting this inevitability all the way!!! So he's now left it up to me to book his flight, I get to pick the week.. so if I pick wrong it's my own fault. Nice eh?

I'm off to go check Mel's pictures...

Charlotte- I know how frustration that can be... try not to stress about it too much... I know everyone is different and every situation is different but with us we planned.. we tried.. we did everything for 3 years. And the month that God chose to give us Jacob.. we had NO ac (in Texas summer) and it was so hot that we BD that whole month 1 maybe 2 times... getting preggers was the LAST thing on either of our minds we were just trying not to pass out from heat stroke most days... so BD was not on our list of priorities. and one month later...tada Jacob

one month later? wow that's a fast gestation!! I know what you mean, I've stopped trying to force extra BDing just for the sake of it.. but him not being around at all sucks. Especially since him going home to visit his dad is a bit of a bone of contention with me. I don't begrudge him the visit in one sense but not happy about the money being spent on the airfare. I have no right to be upset except I'm the one who handles the money in the family and I hate debt, and also after him being away for close to a month I'm sad he's giving up another week to visit a father who was so far from good it's sad. But.. I'll live Found the Jacob photo - oh my golly!!! He is sooooooo cute. Going to break some hearts!

Charlotte -

Congrats to Katy - I the name Chloe too!

amlundie - Thanks for sharing, what a great story!

Im still on induction and still walking every evening. Hoping to see some good progress in a couple weeks. Im having some reservations about still being so overweight when we TTC. I mean even if I reach my goal of losing 50lbs beforehand I will still be overweight. I dont have any TOM issues and I have a clean bill of health (even with being overweight) but I will be 32 on 10/30 which is when we are supposed to start and I dont want to put it off but I guess my weight is just bothering me right now. Maybe I am just PMS'ing right now, LOL!

Andi - I won't ask you weight but what is your estimated BMI for when you want to start trying to conceive? For my last pregnancy my BMI was 41.3 and went up to 45.8 I did have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby, it is doable but VERY hard on the body! This time around I'm currently at BMI of 36.3 and my RE doc REALLY want me below BMI 35, reasoning being that class I obese or better reduces risks of miscarriage and complications to mother and child. And while I desperately want to get pregnant ASAP I do respect what he is saying. And besides finding maternity clothing was a sad sad painful experience and I never really did have a cute baby bump. Sooooo.. I accept what will be. Does any of this info help you? I dunno.. but if your BMI is below 35 I'm hoping this will make you feel better. And if not it's something to work towards as you TTC #1, because as we all know it can happen straight away, or it can take forever! And lastly like I said, although it wasn't easy being so overweight and pregnant, I did it, it can be done and there is no reason not to try. Phew.. that was a mouthful.

Thanks for the response. My BMI will be at 40.9 when I lose the full 50lbs I set out to lose. You are right though, who is to say it will happen right away? I need to stay focused on health and for all I know, I could lose another 25lbs before it happens. Thanks again.

Mel - I peeked in on the other thread and my goodness that boy of yours is a heartbreaker I also saw where you were re-inducting How's it going?

Charlotte - It's so frustrating to feel like time is slipping through you fingers I agree with Mel, dont lose hope/faith, you never know when your cycle might surprise you and give you your little miracle. Sorry about the stress with DH, tho, family junk can be soooo complicated and stressful. DH and I threaten to run away and be hermits together A LOT

Andi - Great job keeping up with induction and exercise To throw my 2 cents into the weight/TTC discussion, after struggling with almost 4 years of infertility, I would have started trying sooner so I knew what I was dealing sooner. As long as you are as healthy as you can be and your doc is on board, I vote that you keep doing what you are doing to get healthier and healthier and trust that the PG will happen when it is supposed to. But that's just my opinion (and you know what they say about those... )

AFM, I'm proud to say I actually dragged my AF'n booty out of bed this am and went for a jog in the rain. The 5k is coming up QUICK and I'm still not sure I'll be ready On the TTC front, I started the Clomid today, so I warned DH that he may want to camp out back for the next few days Hoping the weather holds this weekend so I can go hiking with the fam and looking forward to a long weekend no matter what the weather does

Wishing everyone a happy weekend

Thanks Kat! Yes I am re-inducting... Mon (the last straw day).. I weighed in at 270.5... I was 266 when Jake was born hence that being the day I decided to start getting healthy for myself, my hubby, Jake and the next baby! This morning I weighed in at 261.0 sooooo that's 9.5 lbs, I know some of that is water weight but it's still encouraging to see I almost did a dance this morning

Good job going for a run!!! GL on the Clomid, I hope it does the trick for you!

Kat - how does Clomid affect you? I guess I should probably research this one before getting it next appointment. lol What about weight gain?? Good luck with the running, I noticed in your sig you had an event coming up soon yesterday and wondered. I'm going to try a month with Soy Iso, only really to see if it will keep my cycle on the shorter side of things rather than super long like this past cycle.

Mel - Awesome job getting back to eating healthy. What WOE are you following, or are you winging it?

Charlotte- I am doing general LC.... I did have some orange juice in my fridge that I have been drinking to get rid if it... oranges didn't make me fat so I figured I'd go ahead and finish it but not buy more. I have been eating TONS of tuna cause my house was filled with HC things and I had to survive with what was in the house... but I did it and now it's been 4 days so I'm pretty much through the cravings.

Clomid- I took Clomid for 1 cycle.... about a year or so before I got preg. my problem with it was that BD was "required" on specific days and it made life so stressful.. like if we were tired or busy or whatever on the day we were supposed to BD it made me so upset, like we were failing at our one shot to get pregnant I've heard it also makes people crabby but I didn't really expirience that. It wasn't a good fit for us.. but I know it works.

Hey ladies. I wanted to come and cheer everyone on!

Kat - good luck with clomid. I hope you stay sane.

Mel - awesome job on the WL!!! You sound very motivated. KUTGW!

Andi - I agree one thousand percent with what Kat said. If I had known how difficult it would be to TTC for me then I wouldn't have waited so long. I waited for things to be perfect (aside from my weight) and found the road to be long and rough. Losing weight did help regulate my cycles but my b/w and everything was always perfect. So my advice is to keep TTC. You can lose weight as you go and you have no idea how long it will take. If you do get pregnant right away, then it doesn't mean it will be a hard pregnancy. I got pregnant right around 250 and so far my pregnancy has been "normal" and I've felt fine. Granted I can't compare it to what it would be like if I was 100 pounds lighter but I've really felt great. Okay, I'll leave it at that. GL!!

Thanks everyone I really appreciate all the advice!

I am down 3lbs today after reinducting on Tuesday so I am hopeful that I can continue to lose if I keep my carbs low and stop getting lax with my food. We wont change our plans and will still plan on starting TTC right after my b-day.

Have a great weekend all! I probably wont be around much as we will be super busy. I will catch up next week.

Ok, I've been keeping up with you ladies for a while, Char told me to come on over when I was ready. I guess no problem in posting with you ladies. Bf (basically DH we been together 8 years as of yesterday) and I are just letting whatever happens happen. Not actively TTC but not doing anything to stop it either (I am charting and temping just to see if I'm ovulating). My cycles had been really messed up (might still be, it's too early to tell) and I had AF for 4 months (yes char knows all about that also Lol, we're in a group together, and now Poca is in our group). Just went to the Dr. last friday and got put on thyroid medication and did tell her of my plans to ttc and she had no problem with it (even at my weight) because she was so proud of how much weight I have already lost.

Right now I'm trying to get my thyroid in check and my cycles but we have been using no method of birth control and will let whatever happens happen. (We ttc a few years ago for a few months and it didn't happen so I'm not willing to not try thinking I will get PG easily). I would like to lose quite a bit more weight and will keep on that journey as we start this new one. So like I said, not calling it TTC but ya know, not preventing it either.

MsWoods - your stats are amazing! Care to share any of your secrets? Sending you lots of baby dust, too!

Mel - 9.5 lbs is 9.5lbs and that's downright amazing! KUTGW!! And post some menus when/if you feel like it, I'd love some new food inspiration.

Charlotte - the Clomid seems to affect everyone differently, and it's even been different for me each time. I get the hot flashes, esp. at night (which DH loves, cause he can keep the a/c cranked extra high, lol), and sometimes (like today) I get pretty moody, which is kind of unusual for me, so it rattles me a little. Some people don't have any side effects at all. All in all, I think its on the less-scary end of the spectrum. GL with the soy iso, it always interested me, so I look forward to seeing how it works for you!

Amber - "sane" is a relative term, right

Andi - hope you are enjoying your weekend! Great job on the lbs lost and KUTGW!!

Hey Everyone!

I'm back from lurking. Dh left yesterday. I'm pretty sure today is my O day. Hoping we have a chance this cycle. If not I'm okay with it. I ate terribly while DH was here, gained 7lbs. Back to strict WW today. I bought a beautiful ball gown for the military ball we will be having around January. It fits now but is a little snug. I will be headed back to Germany sometime this month. I'm so excited

I will be back in a few to catch up on everyone. I hope all is well.

Hey ladies!

I know I haven't posted in a while, but I had a really busy August. I had my grad school graduation and school started back up. The beginning of the school year is so stressful for me as a teacher! Things are calming down now that we are one month in.

I haven't charted my temps for the last two months. I went on vacation at the beginning of July right as a new cycle was starting and it just was too much to try and wake early to temp when I wasn't at home. So, I decided to take July off from temping. Then I ended up taking August off, too, because I just couldn't get back into it. And a break is always good. So, right now I am on CD 34 and no AF yet. I usually have 28-30 day cycles with the occasional 32 day cycle. I'm not totally sure of when I ovulated since I wasn't temping but I do remember having lots of EWCM on CD 15-16 and what felt like they could be ovulation pains around CD 17. I've been having some light cramps on and off for the last 2-3 days but no spotting. I feel like AF is coming but I also sort of feel like she isn't. It's weird. Anyhow, I have not tested yet. I bought some tests today but I almost don't want to test because I like the feeling of hopefulness that comes with a late period.

I hope everyone is doing well! My eating hasn't been consistently good for the last month or so but I'm trying to get back on track like I used to be. My husband and I switched gym memberships over to the YMCA and I've been loving the group classes I'm taking.
