LOL, you must have seen my FB status. I am good. I had 2 hours of regular mild contractions this morning but then they went away. I can't believe all of the false labor I've been having! I am thinking it will be Wed, Thurs or Fri. No reason, just guessing.

I *think* this might be the day. I woke up at 4am with the Big D and contractions started shortly after. I have been timing them and they are currently averaging 5min apart but they are still not very strong. Just gonna hang out and get some hopefully last minute stuff done (like waxing my horrendous eyebrows
). Will be texting Amy when/if things turn serious! Also, if I do go into labor and you are my FB friend, please please please do not mention baby's name! We have not told her name IRL and I don't want to spoil the surprise! |

Today huh? That is exciting!!!
So I'm only 6 weeks as of today and my pants are TIGHT! What's up with that? I've only gained half a pound. Maybe I'm just bloated? I thought I'd have a few months before having to buy bigger clothes??? I sure wish I would have known I was going to get pregnant BEFORE giving away all my bigger size jeans!!! (Sigh) |

OMG Katy!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for you to have your daughter. I hope things go well today and you have an easy labor!!! I'll be thinking about you all day!!!
![]() Mel - that's good to know. His aren't painful and are fairly low. Maybe it's all the extra padding I have that helps keep me comfy? Gretchen - the bloat will get pretty bad over the next few weeks. I think mine got worse each week until around 12w and then slowly went down. Then a baby bump emerged. You may need to do the rubber band trick or get a bella band sooner rather than later. Gracie - I don't know for sure, but I think the big "d" is diarrhea (sp?)?? Not sure...

Hi All,
Now that its the new month I thought I'd come out of lurker mode and officially join. I think I'm sufficiently over the shock of being pg that I can join in. My dh isn't quite over his shock yet. It's taking a little longer for him as I don't think it's 'real' to him yet. I don't look preggers... just a bit fatter (oh joy), a lot sicker and more tired. ![]() My EDD is Feb 9th. We should find out the gender next week. |

I went on to not gain another lb throughout my 1st trimester as I was very sick but did continue to bloat up. I went up a full size the 1st trimester with only gaining the initial 5lbs of bloat. I was MAD!!! I just looked like I had gained weight instead of looking pregnant. Not fair! |

So I take it that it is common to have D (
) before going into labor? |

I'm thinking about changing doctors.
I could drive to either New Orleans or Baton Rouge I especially need one that deals with PCOS and someone who is 35 and pregnant for the first time. Thanks! |

I'm in New Orleans! I'll also be 35 when I give birth so I have fallen into the 'high risk' category by default. I really like my ob but I'm not sure she's taking new clients as she's going to give birth in Nov... Of course... this is my first also but I still like her. |

for Katy. This was the most frustrating part of my pregnancy...the anticipation and the not kowing when labor would start. |

Gretchen - My doctor was actually really nice but the office just has too many doctors and too many patients in my opinion. However they did always return my calls and all that. I just prefer a smaller office. Mine obviously was in the office building next to Women's Hospital. However my sister in law REALLY ABSOLUTELY loves her OB which works out of LakeSide for delivery, I'm not sure where her office is but I'd imagine somewhere around New O. My sister in law lives in Slidell though, but she is a neonatal nurse at Lakeside Hospital, so if she thinks so highly of her OB she probably has really good reason as she knows and works with so many of them. So PM me if you want the info and I'll email my sister in law to get it.
Katy - Too bad...false alarm...but you are definitely gearing up. My best friend always had the big D before labor so who knows, I wouldn't go eating a whole bunch today or anything, be prepared just in case. So nipps are still in pain so I've been giving them a break from the baby at night and pumping the milk then giving it to him. I find he's not as willing at night to open his mouth as wide anyway and when he doesn't, that is when I have the most pain. I'm finding I can make it through the day mentally better if I know at night I get that little reprieve and so far it really is helping them heal (somewhat). I have to say though I'm extremely happy that it's all working at all. Since I had breast augmentation and a lift in 2006, there was no guarantee b/c they actually cut my nipple (and all the attatched stuff) all the way around and sewed it back on. I've gone from pumping only a drop last Wed to 1oz and now almost 2oz. Thank God, the human body can do some amazing things. Hope everyone is doing well.

Meek - I usually get mine (even solely nursing) around 4 months (as does my bff). However I've heard of people that nurse going 18 months. Go figure I'd never be that lucky. If you don't nurse I'd imagine it could come back pretty darn quick. I do Natural Family Planning (or used to that is) and they always said if I solely nursed it was natural birth control....HA...that is how I ended up pregnant with my third son when the second was only 4 months old. I don't think I'm gonna trust that theory. lol!!
Interestingly enough, I love Griffin so much, that even after all the pain and agony of this pregnancy I think it's totally possible I may have another in the future.....I can't even believe I'm saying this. LOL! Last edited by jbird3; 09-01-2009 at 03:19 PM.. |
